One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop Pretty in Pink

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop.  This month we are all about pink!  Whether you are starting here or have already been hopping, you are sure to find great ideas for your stamping.  I'm glad that you are here.  I am Jo Anne Hewins and I'm from North Carolina in the USA.

Stampin' Up! has some beautiful designer series paper in the catalog this year.  I thought that I would showcase some of that.  I picked papers that have Petal Pink and Blushing Bride.  I'm also using the new Stitched Triangles dies.  Here is my project.

OSAT Study in Pink for July by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Petal Pink 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Gray Granite measuring 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.

The next layer will end up being 3 3/4 x 5, but I started with a little larger piece that was 4 x 5 1/4.  After adding all of the triangles, I trimmed it all down.

Cut the equilateral triangle from pink papers from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, and the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper stack.  I used the fourth triangle in from the outside.

I glued all of my triangles with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  You might want to try the new Adhesive Sheets as well.  Hint:  If you see that a triangle will go over the edge of the card stock, you don't need to put glue over the whole triangle.  At the edges, adding glue to the card stock might lead to a cleaner, less messy project.  Add glue to the triangles for the center of the layer.  I began in the center and then just  worked out from there.

When the white layer is covered, trim it down to the 3 3/4 x 5.  Add to the Gray Granite layer.  Add all of that to the base with dimensionals.

I kept the saying simple for this card since that background has a lot going on.  Add a 5 1/2 inch strip of the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon.  Fold and secure with a couple glue dots.

Stamp the saying from Tasteful Touches on Whisper White in Gray Granite ink.  Fussy cut around this and add over the ribbon with dimensionals.

Finish off the card with some of the Elegant Faceted Gems.

If there are triangles making up the card, I need a triangle box to go with it.

OSAT Study in Pink Triangle Box for July by Jo Anne Hewins

I configured this box so that the largest equilateral triangle would fit on the front.  The Petal Pink card stock is cut to 3 1/2 x 6.  Score in the center at 3.  Use a pencil to mark the center of each end at 1 3/4.  Four score lines are needed.  They will go from end of the score line in the center of the card stock to the pencil mark at the end.  This forms 2 big triangles that will be the front and the back of the box.  Burnish the folds with a Bone Folder.  The box just folds together.

Here is a picture of the open box.  You won't have the holes yet.

Fill your box with whatever you wish.  To close, punch holes on each side.  Fold the box correctly and hold the sides together as they should be to punch the holes.  Use about 15 inches of the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon and thread through the holes.  This is a little tricky to do, but possible.  Tie into a bow.

To decorate the front, I used the paper from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.  Glue to the front of the box.

Cut a banner from Petal Pink card stock using the Tasteful Labels dies.  Stamp the saying from Tasteful Touches in Gray Granite on white and cut around it.  Add over the pink banner.

Color some of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Dark Petal Pink Blend.  Tie into a box and add over the saying.

Finish by adding some of the Elegant Faceted Gems.

There you have it.  I hope that you'll continue on the hop.  As I said, there are lots of ideas for you!
