Celebrate Sunflowers Bundle - It's Addicting!
It's a Beautiful World

Birds and Branches and the Birds & More Dies

Good morning.  I hope you are happy and well.  I have ventured away from home for a few days.  We are staying in our condo at Beech Mountain, NC.  It's so nice to have a change of scenery for a few days.  We have sheltered in place forever it seems.  We are now allowed to come up and not quarantine.  Frankly, we are just binge watching Longmire (on season six) and getting take out.

I have a card for you today using the Birds and Branches bundle.  Are you loving it?

Birds and Branches Green by Jo Anne Hewins

Let me give you all the details.

The card base is Granny Apple Green and measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is folded at 4 1/4.

The Early Espresso layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

The Whisper White layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.

For the cut outs for this card, stamp the nest in Soft Suede and the eggs in Balmy Blue.  The three eggs are all on one stamp.  The egg die is also three eggs.  When you cut it out it does cut the eggs apart into single eggs.  Stamp the more detailed bird in Early Espresso.   Stamp over the bird with the more solid one in Crumb Cake.  Use a Light Real Red Blend to color in the tummy.  Cut the nest, bird, and eggs out with the Birds & More dies.

Stamp the long branch directly on the white layer in Early Espresso ink.  This would be a little below the center of the card.  Stamp two of the short branches.  I find it helpful to lay the nest down on the card without adhering.  This helps you know where to place the short branches.  Stamp the leaves in Granny Apple Green ink.  The leaf stamp works with both the short and the long branch.  I think that's pretty neat!

Now adhere all of the pieces.  I used glue for the larger pieces and a glue dot for each egg.  When gluing the nest make sure that you can get those little pieces just under it.

The saying is from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set.  Stamp on a scrap of Whisper White in Early Espresso.  Trim around the saying with snips.  Add with dimensionals.

Complete the front with a bow made from Linen Thread.  Add with a glue dot.

Adhere all layers.

The inside of the card is all stamping directly to paper.  You'll use the same colors as on the front.  I did add feet to the bird so that he sits on the branch.  There seems to be a lot of feet in this set.  Just pay attention to which way the bird is facing.  That makes a difference when picking the feet.
