One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop Manly May

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for May 2020.  This month we are celebrating men.  I'm so glad you are here.  Be sure to visit all of the blogs on this hop.  You know, Father's Day will be here soon.  You'll get lots of ideas today!

I'm using the Country Club Designer Series Paper from the January-June Mini catalog.  This paper is on the Last Chance List.  It's going away soon!  Here is my card.

OSAT Country Club Birthday Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Garden Green card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Whisper White measures 4 x 5 1/4.

The green plaid paper from the Country Club Designer Series Paper is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  I did some hinge stamping for the left side of the card using my Stamparatus.  The stamp set is Perennial Birthday.  This stamp set is also retiring.  I just love the bold happy birthday used here.  I will miss it since it is so perfect for masculine cards.  The Stamparatus allows you to go back and stamp again and again if needed to make the words dark.

Use the Stitched Nested Labels dies to cut the banner in Garden Green.  Cut another smaller banner from the designer paper and glue onto the larger one.

The saying is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  It's actually parts of two of the sayings in the stamp set.  Stamp in Memento Black on Whisper White scraps and then cut the words apart.  Glue to the banner.  I added the banner to the card front first with dimensionals so I would get the words on there straight.

The twine accent is made from the Country Club Twine Combo Pack, also on the Last Chance Product list.  I used the green and the black.  Pull the threads apart and then lay them back together.  Since this twine is a little thicker, I think this helps the thread lay a little flatter.   Tie the twine into knots about every 1 1/2 inches.  Add with glue dots behind the knots.

For my 3D project I'm using the Mini Pizza Box.

The top of the box is covered by a 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 piece of the green plaid.  Make the green banner with the smaller plaid banner just as you did for the card.  Stamp the Happy Birthday from the Perennial Birthday stamp set on Whisper White.  Cut this out with the next smallest banner from the Stitched Nested Labels.  The green banners go from corner to corner.  The white label goes across.

Make the knots for each end of the green banner.  Pull apart strands from the twine again and tie in a knot.  Trim to size.  Add with a glue dot.

The sides of the box are covered with designer paper strips that measure 7/8 x 3 1/4.  Add some of the knotted twine around the box.

Here are the two together.  Later I'll fill this box with some Butterfinger nuggets for my husband.  That's his favorite!

I hope you will continue on the hop.  I can't wait to see what everyone has this month!

I do have another post today for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  My card there coordinates with these projects.  Go here to check it out.
