NC Demo Blog Hop for May Saying Good Bye to Painted Harvest
May 31, 2020
Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for May. We are all about celebrating our retiring products today. You might have just come from Tracy's blog or you may just be beginning the hop. Be sure you visit everyone! You'll get some great ideas!
I'm going to tell you the truth. It was hard to pull myself away from the new stuff in order to make a post for today. I will however miss the Painted Harvest stamp set and the Leaf Punch. I decided to use these to make a pretty quick little home decor piece using these products. Here's my project.
I can't seem to make a good picture with the project in the frame without a lot of glare. Here it is without the frame.
The frame is a 6 x 6 shadowbox from Michaels. I've had it for awhile. It had material and a spongy layer where the picture would go. I removed that and added a layer is card board backing from a pack of designer paper. The background for the wreath is from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper retiring. Cut a 6 x 6 piece and glue to the backing.
To get my round shape, I got the largest circle from the Layering Circles dies and laid it in the center. I needed a bigger circle so I put a ring of snail about a half inch out from the circle all around.
The flower is made from three of the flowers from Painted Harvest. I stamped the more solid stamp in Crushed Curry and the more detailed in Mango Melody. There's really no need to stamp the center. All is stamped on Whisper White. Fussy cut all three flowers. Adhere all three flowers with a double stack of dimensionals in the center. Stamp a center in Soft Suede, cut, and add to the top flower.
Spritz everything. The detail on the flowers will disappear somewhat. Fold each layer up toward the center separately and let it dry in the up position. When dry press each layer down a little and arrange it to your liking.
For the leaves I used the Sprig punch, not retiring, in Mossy Meadow and the Leaf punch, retiring, in Old Olive. Punch a bunch. I also used Pear Pizzazz and stamped the leaf from the Painted Harvest stamp set in Old Olive in it. Punch a bunch.
Crinkle up all of the leaves.
I began adding the Mossy Meadow sprigs all around the snail area all around. Notice that all of the leaves face in the same direction. Next I went in and added the Old Olive leaves all around. I used glue dots to add. Fold the glue dot so that it doesn't show. Then fill in with the stamped leaves using glue dots again to add. For my final step I did add more of the Mossy Meadow sprigs where I felt I needed them.
Add the flower with dimensionals.
The tag is stamped on white scrap in Soft Suede. Use the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. Cut out with the Bouquet Bunch dies. These are retiring! The tag automatically has a hole in it. Add some Linen Thread and pull it up under the flower and add with a glue dot. Put another glue dot under the tag.
Tie a box wrapping Linen Thread around three fingers about 4 times and then around two fingers about 4 times. Pull off fingers and adjust so that the loops are centered. Tie with more Linen Thread. Add the bow with a glue dot.
That's it. I think it makes a pretty frame that anyone would love as a gift.
This might look hard, but it really wasn't. I ask what will we do without the Leaf punch. That is so sad. Luckily, we will have the new Celebrate Sunflowers bundle to help us get over the loss of the Painted Harvest stamp set. The Beautiful Bouquet and the Bouquet Bunch dies will also be missed greatly.
There's only a few days left to get these retiring products if they are still left! Order today! See below.
