On Monday, the Color Fusers post used the colors Pineapple Punch, Night of Navy, and Call Me Clover. My card can be found here. Today I'm going to share the first card I made using these colors. I couldn't decide if I like it or if it was just too busy. Tell me what you think. Anyway, here is the card.
I like it, but then I'm just not sure.
Start with a card base of Night of Navy that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. The next layer is Call Me Clover that is 3 3/4 x 5. Punch a few leaf bunches from the center of this layer with the Leaf Punch to use later.
The Whisper White layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. Start with the larger flower stamp from the Floral Essence stamp set. Stamp in Night of Navy over the paper about 3 or 4 times. Now go back with the smaller flower stamp and fill in some of the spaces. It's great to go off the edge. It makes it more real. Add in the centers for the flowers with Pineapple Punch ink. There are several center stamps so make sure you use the correct one with each flower.
Make a mask. Do this by stamping the large flower on a sticky note. Make sure to get part of the flower on the sticky section. Cut around the flower cutting directly on the line. Do this for the larger flower also.
Use the masks to stamp the leaves around the flowers. Put the mask down, stamp, remove masks, repeat. For most of these I only inked up two of the leaves on the leaf stamp. Use Call Me Clover.
Glue the white layer to the green. Use a 3/4 x 5 inch of the Night of Navy check paper from the Neutrals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper just below the center of the card front. Run a length of the Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon around the center of this and tape to the back. Add this layer to the card base.
The saying for the front of this card is from the Timeless Tulips stamp set. Stamp in Night of Navy on Whisper White. Cut out a banner using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. Run a length of the yellow ribbon around this label taping to the back. Add the label with dimensionals. Match the ribbon so that it goes straight across the card.
Stamp a smaller flower on a scrap of white and cut it out. Add some of the leaves to the back. Add to the layer with dimensionals.
Add a bow of the Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon with a glue dot.
Stamp the large flower and center on the inside of the card. Use the mask to stamp more leaves.
Now here's a picture of both of the cards. I hope you'll let me know which card you like best.
Thanks for spending a little of your day with me. If you need any supplies, I am more than happy to help you!
