Taco 'Bout Awesome!

My upline is Patty Bennett.  You might or might not know her, but she is one of the best demonstrators in Stampin' Up!  She is in California and I'm in North Carolina, but that just doesn't matter.  I can get in touch with her any time I need.  She is a great mentor.  Patty reached a milestone recently in her Stampin' Up! career.  She sold 2 million in SU products.  Her Luv 2 Stamp group worked together to send her cards of congratulations.  Here is the card I sent Patty.

Witty-cisms Taco Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card uses the stamp set Witty-cisms.   In October I went on a crafting cruise with my friend Kaye.  One of the reasons we went was because Patty Bennett was also going.  It was fun to spend a little time with her.  We even got to eat dinner with Patty and her family.  That was on Halloween.  Patty's family all had taco shirts and hats.  That's why I chose to make the taco card.

Start with a card base of Crumb Cake that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp randomly over the card front with the dots stamp from the My Meadow set.  Stamp in Crumb Cake.

Add a strip of Mango Melody check just to the left of the card front.  It measures 2 x 5 1/2.  This paper is part of the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalog.

Tie a length of Linen Thread around the card and tie in front.  Add a Linen Thread bow.  Wrap the thread around 4 fingers about 5 times.  Slip the thread off.  Tie it in the middle with another thread.  I wrapped it around several times and then tied it off.  Add with a glue dot.

For the taco cut the largest circle from the Layering Circles dies from Crumb Cake.  Sponge around the outside of the circle with Crumb Cake ink.  Stamp more of the dots on the circle.  Run this through the die cutting machine with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  Turn the paper and run it through the machine again.  Fold and stick together with dimensionals.  I actually put two on top of each other.  This is not a sharp fold.

Here is what I used for the taco toppings:

Beef:  Early Espresso card stock punched with the largest butterfly of the Butterfly Duet punch.  Cut the wings apart and on each side at the bottom.

Lettuce:  Stamp the tree top from the Power of Hope stamp set.  This set was part of the Sale-a-Bration offerings.  It was during SAB when I made the card.  Stamp this on the green paper from the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper in Mossy Meadow.  Fussy cut and add to the taco.  I used 4 of these.

Cheese:  Mango Melody card stock.  Use the Lakeside die from the Annual Catalog.  Cut the strings apart.  Add as you wish.

Tomato:   Use Real Red card stock.  Punch the triangle using the Hot Air Balloon Punch.  Add as many as you need.

Stamp the saying in Early Espresso on Whisper White scraps.  Fussy cut around and add to the card front.

This is the inside of the card.  The saying is from the Sending You Thoughts (another Sale-a-Bration set) in Early Espresso.  Stamp the tacos from the Witty-cisms stamp set.  Color with the Light Crumb Cake and the Dark Old Olive blends.

I was really proud of how this card turned out.

Thanks so much for your time today.  I appreciate it so much.  The Witty-cisms set is great for so many occasions.  Look for it in the January-June Mini Catalog.
