One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for April It's a Milestone
April 09, 2020
Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for April. We are celebrating those milestones in our lives.
A big milestone in a life is the birth of a baby. I made a card for a baby using the Wildly Happy stamp set.
The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 4 1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2. Cut a piece of the script Purple Posy paper from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Glue this to the card front. It should cover the whole front.
Use the thin stitched rectangle from the Ornate Layers dies to cut three panels from the checked Purple Posy from the same pack of 6 x 6 paper. Using the same dies, cut another section on to the end of the paper. This will be about 1/3 the length of the die. Do this 3 times. Add the full rectangles to the card front with dimensionals from the top. Add the one in the middle first using your Grid Paper to get it centered just right. Now add the two on the sides making sure they are even. Now add the partial rectangles from the bottom. Use dimensionals. Use a glue dot where the rectangles overlap each other. You will end up with 3 complete columns from top to bottom on the card front.
Take a length of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and color it with a Dark Purple Posy Blend. Run this around the card hiding the seams of the checked paper. Glue dot the ends behind where the pandas will go.
Stamp the pandas from the Wildly Happy stamp set in Smoky Slate ink on Whisper White. Color in using the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Blends. Cut out using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes dies. Glue to the card.
Color more of the seam binding and tie a bow. Add the bow with a glue dot.
Stamp the saying from Wildly Happy in Smoky Slate. I stamped it two times. Cut out the words and glue to the card.
Stamp the flowers from the Under My Umbrella stamp set in Smoky Slate three times. Color using the Light and Dark Purple Posy Blends and the Light and Dark Mint Macaron Blends. Cut these out and glue to the card front.
For my 3D item, I chose to make a gift card holder. A gift card is perfect for baby. Mom always has a list of baby needs. Use the Purple Posy paper from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper. The holder is from the check paper and measures 4 1/4 x 6. Score on the 4 1/2 side at 1/2. On the 6 inch side score at 1 5/8 from each end.
Cut away the end pieces on the bottom and add Tear & Tape as shown above. Close the sides and then the bottom.
Add a piece of the script paper that is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 to the front.
Color about 18" of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and color with the Dark Purple Posy Blend. Tie around the card in a knot. The tag is stamped from the So Sentimental stamp set. Color the heart with Dark Purple Posy. Use the Mini Curvy Keepsake dies to cut the tag. Add the tag to the ribbon and tie in a bow. Make two more of the flower clusters from Under My Umbrella and add to the bottom of the gift card holder.
