Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We have a color challenge this week using Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, and Garden Green.
I chose to use the Ornate Garden Suite. I have fallen in love with it.
I started with a card base of Poppy Parade that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. Stamp around the edges of the card front with the single flower in Poppy Parade.
The vase is made from a piece of Crushed Curry check from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The die is from the All Dressed Up dies. It's the perfume bottle. Color some of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Dark Poppy Parade Blend and tie into a bow. I use a bow maker. Add to the neck of the bottle with a glue dot.
The next layer is Whisper White measuring 3 3/4 x 5. Decide where the vase will be on this layer and remove it. Then stamp the single flower stamp from Ornate Style and stamp as if they would be coming out of the vase. Use Memento Black ink. Color the flowers with Light and Dark Poppy Parade Blends. The center of the flowers are made using the Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker from the Regals Collection. Color the leaves with the Garden Green ink pad and Blender Pens.
Run the Whisper White layer through your die cut machine with the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder. Run through in a vertical orientation and then turn the paper to a horizontal orientation and run it through again. This gives a linen look to the paper.
Add the vase to the card with glue. I did add a piece of Poppy Parade paper as a base for the vase. It is from the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. It measures 1/2 x 2 1/2. Part of the vase overlaps the flowers that I added. That's why there is one on dimensionals that overlaps the vase.
Stamp 6 single flowers on Whisper White scrap paper. Color as above. These will be cut out by hand. Add all of the flowers with a dimensional. Make sure that one of them overlaps the lip of the bottle. One of the flowers goes at the end of the Poppy Parade base at the bottom.
The saying is from the Botanical Prints Product Medley. Stamp on white in Poppy Parade and trim around it.
Finish the card front with Basic Rhinestones that have been colored with a Dark Poppy Parade Blend.
Here's the inside of the card. The saying is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. Stamp in Poppy Parade. Add a few flowers and color them the same as the front of the card.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I do appreciate it.
This week, April 6-10, I am posting a card and video each day. Since I can't have a class in my home, I thought I would share this way. I hope you will check in each day! Each day has a card, a downloadable tutorial, and a video. Go to luv2create.typepad.com.
