One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for March Chick Ewe Out

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for March.  Our theme of Chick Ewe Out means we are all about animals.

You may not think about bugs as being animals, but they certainly are not plants.  I bought the Wiggle Worm bundle to use for another hop.  I thought I would use it for this one as well.  It's just so cute!

I have to say that the praying mantis is my favorite bug in the set.

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.

I'm using the Pleased As Punch Designer Series Paper for this card.  It's only available until the end of March and it is so springy.  We need that now!  Cut the green sheet to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  This will cover the entire front of the card.  Stamp the V shapes randomly over the front of the sheet.  Stamp in Granny Apple Green.

Add two strips of the stripes paper from the same pack.  They are 1/2 by 4 1/4.  Place them about 1/3 and 2/3 down the paper.

Glue the paper to the card front.  The Multipurpose Liquid Glue allows a little movement briefly so that you can place this paper just right.

Cut a scallop rectangle from the raindrop paper using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  Use the second largest one.  This layer will be added with dimensionals when ready.  Cut grass from the green designer paper using the Wiggly Bugs dies and add this to the bottom of the layer.  Glue along the bottom so you can slip that bug in there.

Stamp the praying mantis in Mossy Green ink.  Stamp the outline.  Then there is a stamp to add its details.  You do need to line this up carefully.  Being photopolymer helps!  Color in the bug with a Dark Granny Apple Green blend.  Cut out with the Wiggly Bugs dies.  Add with dimensionals.

Stamp the tiny bug and its details, cut out, and glue to the upper right corner of the panel.

Use the Umbrella Builder Punch to punch out the umbrella and handle from the Pleased As Punch DSP.  Glue down the handle and add the umbrella top with dimensionals.  Tie a bow with the Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine and add with a rolled up glue dot.

The saying is from the Under My Umbrella stamp set.  Stamp in Balmy Blue and cut apart.  Add to the card.  I used glue dots for this.

I decided that my 3D object this time would be a book mark.  I still read real books.  I'm sure many of you do too.  I hope I'm not the only dinosaur around.

Start with a piece of Thick Whisper White that is 2 x 6.  Glue the same size of green Pleased As Punch paper to it.  Stamp randomly with the V stamp in Granny Apple Green.  Add a 1/2 x 6 strip of striped paper down the side.  Punch the top with the Delightful Tag Topper punch.

The thread topper was made using the Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.  I wound the thread around a stamp pad about 15 times.  Slide off carefully.  Pull all of the thread through the hole in the tag top and fold in half.  Now wrap the twine around near the fold about 10 times and tie off.  Trim the other end evenly.

Stamp a praying mantis just as for the card and glue to the card.  Cut some grass as for the card and glue to the bottom of the book mark and trim to fit.

The saying is from the Sending You Thoughts stamp set.  It's a Sale-a-Bration item!  Stamp in Granny Apple Green and cut the saying apart.  Glue to the book mark.
