Relax and Chinchilla from Witty-cisms

Today I have a card to share that I have sent out to about 18 friends.  I don't want to make light of our situation, but we do need remember to follow the rules first, and then relax and take advantage of the slow down.  Fear cannot win!

Witty-cisms Chinchilla by Jo Anne Hewins

I love using the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes.  They are just a little smaller that our regular cards (3 1/2 x 5).  They are also paired together with envelopes.  Twenty come in a pack, and they are economical.  There you go.  You need these!

For this card, stamp the little design stamp randomly over the card front.  This stamp is from the So Sentimental stamp set.  I used Pretty Peacock ink.

The check paper is also Pretty Peacock.  Find it in the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper pack.  Cut to 1 1/2 x 5.  Cut a piece of the Pretty Peacock Scallop Ribbon to around 5 1/2 inches.  Add down the center of the checked paper.  I used a little snail and then adhered around to the back with glue dots.  I added this piece just to the right of the center of the front of the card.

Stamp the chinchilla from the Witty-cisms stamp set.  I stamped it in Early Espresso.  Color in the chinchilla using Light Flirty Flamingo and the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends.  Punch using the 2" Circle Punch.  The frame was cut using the Layering Circles dies.  Cut from Pretty Peacock card stock.  Adhere the two and then add to the card front using dimensionals.

Add a bow made from Linen Thread using over the circle.

The saying is from the Seaside Notions stamp set.  Add more of the little designs.

I ended up having some 1 inch strips of the check paper.  To use them up, I add two of them down the center of the card.  Cover the seam with the Pretty Peacock Scallop Ribbon.  Finish the same as the first card.  It's just a little different, but used some of my scraps.

Hope you are doing well and that you are safe.  I hope that you are stamping if you now have extra time at home.

Thanks to those of you who continue to work and help keep our country going!  God Bless You!

Heart Punch Pack and More!

Hello to you.  I have just a quick little post for you today.  I wanted to share this card.

Heart Punch Pack Card by Jo Anne Hewins

I received a card from Tamra Davis and it inspired me to use some of the same punches that she did in her card.  Thanks Tamra.

The card starts with a card base of Merry Merlot that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Whisper White measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  Run this layer through your die cutting machine with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder.  This folder is available now for demonstrators and will be available to everyone beginning April 1.  That's this week you know!  It's really pretty.  Glue to the card front.

Punch a heart using the heart punch from the Heart Punch Pack using Merry Merlot.  Add this to the center of the card with dimensionals.  First though, take some of the Silver Metallic Thread and run it over your four fingers about 6 times.  Gently take off the thread and attach to the dimensionals.  One down on the card, you can rearrange just a little to please you.  It should look a little messy.

Using the Leaf Punch, make 3 Garden Green leaves.  Punch out three flowers from Rococo Rose card stock using the Small Bloom Punch.  This punch is part of Sale-a-Bration.  Time is running out!  It is rumored that this punch will be in the next annual catalog.  The center of the flowers uses So Saffron sequins from the Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins Combo Pack.  This was one of the SAB items, but sadly, it is no longer available.

The saying is from the Tags in Bloom stamp set.  This is a Sale-a-Bration item.  Fussy cut around the words.

Assemble everything according to the picture.

Did you notice that I had you punch an extra leaf and flower?  Put those on the inside of the card.  This saying is also from the Tags in Bloom stamp set.

NC Demo Blog Hop for March- In Color Monochromatic

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for March.  I'm so happy you are here.  You might have just come from Amy's post.  I know you loved her project.  Please visit everyone on the hop.  You'll love all the great ideas!

Join us blog

You might be aware that each year Stampin' Up! has 5 new In Colors and 5 In Colors that retire.  This month we are all about the 2018-2020 In Colors that are saying good bye.

2018-2020 In Colors

I love these colors so much.  I sure will miss them.  We do have until the end of May to enjoy them.  Let me warn you though, these colors will sell out before their retirement date.  Our task today is to choose one of these colors and make a monochromatic card.  I am using Lovely Lipstick.

NC Blog To a Wild Rose

This card of course starts with a base of Lovely Lipstick that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  We are using the To a Wild Rose stamp set.  Stamp around the edges of the front with the detailed flower stamp.  The flower in this set has three steps, an outline, a background, and a detailed stamp.  Stamp in Lovely Lipstick.  It's so much easier to match the stamping of these flowers if you place them on the clear block in the same orientation.  Look for a place that's the same on each stamp and put that at the same place.  For me, I found a petal that juts out on each stamp.  I used that for reference.

Use the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut a Whisper White rectangle with the largest die.  Now use a sponge dauber to color in the rectangle.  Cut three of the sprigs from the Wild Rose dies.

The next layer is Lovely Lipstick.  Cut it to 2 9/16 x 3 3/4.  Run this layer through a die cutting machine with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  Glue to the rectangle.  Add these layers to the front of the card with dimensionals.

NC Blog To a Wild Rose Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the flower on a piece of Whisper White.  I stamped the outline in Lovely Lipstick.  Next the more detailed stamp.  Finally stamp the background stamp.  Stamp this one off on a piece of white first.  Sponge around the outside of the flower.  Cut out the flower with the Wild Rose dies.  Glue the flower.  There will need to be some dimensionals where the flower overlaps the rectangle.

Stamp hello on Whisper White in Lovely Lipstick.  Sponge it.  Fussy cut the saying.  Glue.

NC Blog To a Wild Rose Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, the saying is from the To a Wild Rose stamp set.  Stamp another flower as on the front and cut out.  Cut a Lovely Lipstick sprig from the Rose dies to add jutting out from behind the flower.  The To a Wild Rose Bundle is a great value with a 10% value.

I also made a card without the sponging.  I'm not sure we can really call this a monochromatic card.  How do you like it?

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #605 Full of Happiness

It's Thursday and that means that it is the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #605.  This week we have a color challenge.

CCMC605

We are using the colors Grapefruit Grove, Daffodil Delight, and Coastal Cabana.  At once I thought about the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper.  Here's my card!

CCMC #605 Full of Happiness by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score at 4 1/4 and fold.  Use a Bone Folder to burnish.  Cut the Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue to the card front.  I usually cut this layer just a tiny bit larger.  Then I trim off the extra with scissors.  If for some reason, the base is a little larger than the cut paper, just trim to fit.

The Coastal Cabana layer is cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Top this with a layer of the diagonal stripe patterned paper measuring 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.

Add these layers with dimensionals.

The chick from the Full of Happiness is so cute!  He is a little weird at first, but once you add the beak and eyes, he comes alive!  They are easy to place since the set is photopolymer.  The chick is stamped first on Whisper White in Daffodil Delight.  Add the beak in Grapefruit Grove and the eyes with Memento Black.  For this card there is no need to stamp the feet.  They will be hidden.  Fussy cut the chick.

CCMC #605 Full of Happiness Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the outline of the egg 2 times on Whisper White  using Coastal Cabana ink.  Add the stripes stamp in the same color.  Cut these out with the Dino Dies.  These dies can be found in the Annual Catalog.

Add the chick and the shells to the card with dimensionals.  Use glue where the shells over lay.

The saying is from the Full of Happiness set.  Stamp on white scrap in Coastal Cabana.  Cut apart and add to the card.

The card needed just a little something.  I added some Coastal Cabana Glitter Enamel Dots.

CCMC #605 Full of Happiness Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying for the inside of the card is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.  Stamp in Grapefruit Grove.  Stamp the chick as on the front.  This time make sure to add the feet in Grapefruit Grove!

CCMC#605 Full of Happiness by Jo Anne Hewins

I think this card is really cute!  I hope you like it, too!  Thanks for you time today.  Stamping is my business.  Please let me know if I can be of help to you.

FROM NOW UNTIL MARCH 31ST, ALL ORDERS $50 OR MORE WILL GET A DESIGNER SERIES PAPER SAMPLER WITH 24 SHEETS OF 4 X 6 PAPERS!!!!  THINK OF ALL OF THE CARDS YOU COULD MAKE!  I will mail the sampler to you after I get notification of your purchase.  I just don't want you to miss out on anything.  Here's a picture, but papers may vary.
