Timeless Tropical Love That Flower!

When I first saw the Timeless Tropical stamp set and the In the Tropics dies (they do come in a bundle) I focused on the pineapple.  I loved it.  I wanted it!  This bundle has turned into a real treasure for me.  It is really versatile.   I did share a pineapple card here.   I've made a card featuring the palm trees here.  Today I share a card using that large flower.  It has captured my heart.  This was a card we made in my last class.

Timeless Tropical Project by Jo Anne Hewins

For this card start with a base of Flirty Flamingo that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.  Stamp over this base with the large flower stamp.  I used Lovely Lipstick ink.  Using these two colors together was a stretch for me, but it is so pretty!

I used the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the rectangle from a piece of Whisper White.  The saying is from the Special Celebrations stamp set from page 22 of the Annual Catalog.  Stamp it in Lovely Lipstick.  Add this layer with dimensionals.

Timeless Tropical Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the large flower in Lovely Lipstick.  Color with a Light Flirty Flamingo Blend and cut out with the In the Tropics dies.  Stamp 3 leaves in Old Olive ink.  Color these in with a Light Granny Apple Green Blend and cut them out.  Arrange the flower and leaves.  I used glue and dimensionals, glue where they cover the banner and dimensionals where they hang over the banner.

Add some Lovely Lipstick dots from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots.  That's it!

Timeless Tropical Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, the saying is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.  Stamp the flower first.  To add the leaves, you need to make a mask.  Stamp the flower on a sticky note making sure that part is on the sticky space.  Cut this out with snips.  Use this to cover the flower you stamped.  Now stamp the leaves.  The part you don't want goes on the sticky note.  Just pull it off.  Color in with Blends.

Clubhouse A Tutorial Medley Card by Janet Goshorn

Today I want to share a card with you showing the Clubhouse stamp set.  It's on page 48 of the January-June Mini Catalog.  This card was designed by Janet Goshorn.  She did a great job.

No photo description available.

Here's how to make this card.

All images © 1990-2020 Stampin’ Up!®

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Clubhouse (151583)

Cardstock: Whisper White (100730), Garden Green (102584), Blueberry Bushel (146968)

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (132708), Blueberry Bushel (147138), Blends: Pool Party Light (144595), Smoky Slate Light (145054), Old Olive Light (144574)

Tools & Accessories: Absolutely Argyle 3D embossing folder (151590); Golf Club Dies (151580); Stitched Rectangle Dies (148551)

Misc.: die cutting machine, Multipurpose liquid glue (110755)

Measurements:

Card Base: Whisper White base 8 ½” x 4 ¼”; score and fold at 5 ½”

Cardstock #2: Garden Green 4” x 5 5/16” ( I cut just a hair bigger than 5 ¼”)

Cardstock #3 – Blueberry Bushel 3 ¾ “ x 5”

Small pieces of Whisper White for the golf balls, golfer and sentiment banner

Instructions:

Die cut 10 golf balls from Whisper White Cardstock. Glue the golf balls down randomly onto the Blueberry Bushel cardstock. Be sure some of the golf balls are off the edges. Trim the edges of the golf balls.

Run the Blueberry Bushel cardstock with the golf balls through the Absolutely Argyle Embossing folder.

Die cut Garden Green rectangle frame using the 2 largest rectangle frames. Hint: use a small piece of washi tape or painters’ tape to keep the 2 dies in place when run through die cutting machine. Die cut 2 frames and glue together to make a firmer frame.

Die cut 6 pieces of Garden Green grass and glue into position along bottom edge Blueberry Bushel cardstock. Overlap the edges slightly and leave the grass top edges unglued so can curl slightly.

Stamp the golfer onto piece of Whisper White cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink. Die cut the golfer out using Die cutting machine.

Color golfer as desired using Blends.

Die cut thin banner from Whisper White cardstock and stamp sentiment with Blueberry Bushel ink. Stay close to the far-left end so can trim off the right end to fit.

Assemble card: Whisper White card base, Garden Green cardstock layer, then Blueberry Bushel layer with the golf balls, then the Garden Green frame. Add the golfer and sentiment in desired position.

One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for February Sweet Sixteen Birthday

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for February.  We are all about birthdays this month!  Yes, the topic says sweet sixteen, but it's really birthdays in general.  You know, we all have one so birthday cards are a must have!

Image may contain: text

For my project, I'm using the Botanical Prints Product Medley.  You can find this on page 61 of the January-June Mini Catalog.  Here is my card.

OSAT Botanical Prints Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The Botanical Print Product Medley has the Botanical Print stamp set and dies.  It has a pack of 48 pieces of designer paper that is 6 x 6.  It has 8 each of 6 double sided designs.  There are 4 sheets of die-cut accents and 4 sheets of laser-cut overlays.  There are 12 copper colored metal bee embellishments.  There's also a roll of Old Olive Twill Ribbon.  Colors for this kit are Basic Black, Copper, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pretty Peacock, Terracotta Tile, and White.

My card has an Old Olive base that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp around the outside of the front of the card in Old Olive ink using a stamp from Botanical Prints.

Cut the designer series paper using the largest rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I used the Terracotta Tile flowered paper.  Color in the center of the flowers with a Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Marker and the Light Old Olive Blend.  Add a length of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding just below the center of this banner.  Add the banner with the Foam Adhesive Strips to the center of the card front.

The saying is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  Stamp in Old Olive on Whisper White.  Cut the shape with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  Stamp the flower stamp from the Botanical Prints stamp set in Basic Gray on Whisper White.  Color in and cut out with the Botanical Prints dies.  Add to the banner.  Add the banner with dimensionals.

Add a bow made from the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding to the front with a glue dot.

OSAt Botanical Prints Card Full View by Jo Anne Hewins

Of course you need a little gift to accompany your card.

OSAT Botanical Prints Treat Holder by Jo Anne Hewins

First make the box.  I used Old Olive card stock.  The box itself is 4 x 8 1/2.  Score on the long side at 2, 4, 6, 8.  Turn and score, at 2.  Burnish the folds with a Bone Folder.  Trim the 1/2 inch piece from the bottom and trim up the bottom score lines up to the fold.  Stamp the flower stamp on the sides.  Glue the side flap to the inside of the box.  Glue the bottom.  I will add a video showing how to make the box.

The flaps are made from a 2 x 11 inch strip of Old Olive.  You might cut this just a little short of 2" so that it fits in the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  Score at 4 1/2 x 6 1/2 and burnish.  Punch each end with the Scallop Tag Topper punch.  Now cut 2 strips of the designer paper that is 1 7/8 x 6.  Punch one end of each strip.  Check to make sure that you have it in the direction you like.  Color one of the strips to match the front of the card.  The other will be the back of the box.  Glue a strip to the green flap.   Fold to glue where the score line is on the flap.  Glue the other paper strip to the flap in the same way.  They will overlap on the bottom.

OSAT Botanical Prints Treat Box Side View 2 by Jo Anne Hewins

Fill the box and tie the tops with Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding.

Here is a video showing how to make this box.

The saying for the front of the box is from the Honey Bee stamp set.  Stamp in Old Olive and cut out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  Add with dimensionals.  The leaves are cut with the Botanical Prints dies.  Glue to the saying.

And there you go.  It's all ready for that special someone on their birthday.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #599 Poppy Moments Dies

Welcome!  I'm so glad you are here today.  For the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, we are using the colors Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, and Basic Gray.

CCMC599

For my card, I used the Poppy Moments Dies.  They are very popular and there's a reason why.  They are gorgeous!  If you don't have them, you must!

CCMC#599 Poppy Moments Project by Jo Anne Hewins

I started with a card base of Basic Gray.  It measures 4 1/4 x 11 and is scored and folded at 5 1/2.

The next layer is Flirty Flamingo.  It is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.

The Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4 x 5.  Run it through a die cutting machine with the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.  This folder is fast becoming a big favorite too.

Cut a 5 1/2 " length of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and color it with a Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend.  It colors so easily and looks so pretty and it dries so fast.  This ribbon is perfect to make any color you want!  Love!  Run this ribbon down the center of the front layers and tape to the back.  Color more ribbon to make a bow to add later.

Now you are ready for the Poppy Moments Dies.  You will need to cut 1 large and 3 small solid flowers from Real Red, 1 large and 3 small detailed flowers from Flirty Flamingo, three Basic Gray leaf stems, and 1 full and 3 partial flower centers from Basic Gray.  Note that I gave you the numbers to include a small flower on the inside of your card.

CCMC#599 Poppy Moments Layers by Jo Anne Hewins

Match up the detailed flowers with the solid.  I glued these only in the center and allowed the outside free of adhesive.  Glue down the centers of all flowers.  Add the flowers to the card.  All the gray leaf stems.  I did trim them to fit and go where I wished.  All was glued with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The word Love is from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.  Stamp in Real Red on a Whisper White scrap.  Fussy cut and add to the card.

Add the bow with a glue dot.  I did use a bow maker to make my bows.  I wish I could tie a pretty bow on my own, but I admit that I need help!

CCMC #599 Poppy Moments Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside of the card has a saying from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.  Add the other flower down in the right corner.

This card may look hard, but it's really just cutting a few parts and putting them together.  This die makes the cards.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you'll try this color combination!

Stampin' Bingo for the January-June Mini Catalog

With each new catalog, I hold a Bingo event at a nearby cafe/bakery.  We have a great time!  Today I want to share with you all about our event.

Bingo February 1 2020 January-June Mini Catalog by Jo Anne Hewins

Everyone went home with these goodies and some with more.  We have a Seat Gift and Goody, Door Prizes, two Make & Takes, and of course, Bingo games (8 this time) with Stampin' Up! items from the January-June Mini Catalog.  This time Bingo prizes ranged from $18 (Label Me Lovely Punch) all the way up to $70 (Botanical Prints Product Medley) by the end of the day.  I give out great prizes!!!

Bingo February 1 2020 Seat Gift by Jo Anne Hewins

Our Seat Gift was 1/4 pack of the beautiful Parisian Blossoms Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Each package was decorated with a banner.  I used the largest rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies for my Petal Pink shape.  Stamp all over with the front with the script stamp from the Parisian Beauty stamp set, also in Petal Pink.  Stamp the flowers from the Forever Blossoms stamp set in Basic Gray.  I stamped from each top corner and up from the middle of the bottom.  Add the Eiffel tower in Basic Gray.  Cut that from the Parisian dies.  The Parisian Beauty stamp set and the Parisian dies can be purchased as a bundle.  Stamp a single flower and color with the Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends.  Cut with the Cherry Blossom dies.  The word friend is from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.  The Forever Blossoms stamp set and the Cherry Blossom dies can also be purchased as a bundle.  Punch with the Classic Label Punch.  Use about 3 inches of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding behind the flower.  I will share a card that I made using this banner in a later post.  I mean, we can't possibly just throw it away!  This project certainly shows how Stampin' Up! products work so well together!

Bingo February 1 2020 Hershey Bar Decor by Jo Anne Hewins

Now of course you are going to need a little chocolate when playing games.  This is a small Hershey bar.  I cut the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper to wrap around the candy bar.  Measurements would vary according to size.  I colored a 4 inch length of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend.  It's so easy to do.  Next comes a heart of Flirty Flamingo cut using the Stitched Be Mine dies from the Annual Catalog.  The flower bud is from the Forever Blossoms stamp set.  Color with the Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo and the Light Old Olive Blends.  Cut out with the Cherry Blossom dies.  So cute!

All Dressed Up Dies and Golden Honey Specialty DSP

This was our first Make & Take of the day.  I used the All Dressed Up dies to make this purse using the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Believe it or not, this paper is a free Sale-a-Bration choice.  The Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and the Lily Pad dies are also free choices.  Please ask me about it.  I want to help you get free stuff.  This project was featured on the 3D Thursday Designer page here.  There is a downloadable tutorial for it on the site.  You can click here.  I think I have it set right.  If there is a problem, please send me a message!  My treat here is a Little Debbie cake.  I split the two pack and used the 3 x 9 Printed Gusseted Cellophane Bags.  I did cut 2 inches off the top.  It's tied with a 8 inch length of the Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon.

Bingo February 1 2020 Clear Treat Box with From My Heart Specialty Paper by Jo Anne Hewins

Our second Make & Take used the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes from the Annual Catalog.  Pull off the clear plastic that covers part of the box and put it together.  Use a strip of 1 1/2 x 8 1/2 paper from the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Begin on the top and finger fold this paper around the box.  Adhere the paper to itself.  That way it becomes a belly band and can easily be taken off.  Wrap a piece of the Real Red Double Stitched Ribbon  around the paper and adhere at the top of the box.  Use the Heart Punch Pack to punch a scalloped heart of Flirty Flamingo and a designed heart from the From My Heart paper.  Add all of these pieces with dimensionals.  Next goes a 4 inch piece of the red ribbon folded over.  The saying is from the Under My Umbrella stamp set.  I used only the bottom line of the saying.  Punch out with the Classic Label Punch and add with dimensionals.  Don't forget to fill your box with something great first!  I used Hershey kisses and a little bit of red shred.

I always forget to take pictures of my events.  I did take a few at the beginning.  Then no more.  Here are some of my lovely ladies and one guy!

Bingo February 1 2020 People Collage 1

Bingo February 1 2020 People Collage 2

I enjoy my Bingo events so much.  Most of the people that attend are also demonstrators, but we have a wonderful time together.  Of course customers can and do attend.  I'll have another with the next Annual Catalog.

Stamping is my business and I would love to help you if I can.  Please let me know.  Meanwhile a list of supplies is at the end of this post.  You can also click on any highlighted product and go to my online store.  Thanks so much.  Don't forget that it's Sale-a-Bration time!
