Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #601 Under My Umbrella
February 27, 2020
Welcome to you! There is a color challenge this week on the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. We are using Purple Posy, Pretty Peacock, and Old Olive.
I'm using the Under My Umbrella bundle. It has the Under My Umbrella stamp set and the Umbrella Builder Punch. I'm so glad that Stampin' Up! has introduced so many new punches with the January-June Mini Catalog. I love punches! Here is my card for today.
This card makes me think of spring. I love the soft colors and crispness of the Whisper White. Here's how to make it.
The card base is Purple Posy cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. The next layer is Pretty Peacock measuring 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. Finally the Whisper White layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. Run the white layer through a die cutting machine with the Eyelet Lace Embossing Folder.
The saying for this card is from the Under My Umbrella stamp set. Stamp in Pretty Peacock on Whisper White. Cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. Add with dimensionals.
I used the Purple Posy and Pretty Peacock paper from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper. Stamp the umbrella and boots on this paper in Pretty Peacock ink. Punch out the umbrella with the Umbrella Builder Punch. Cut out the boots with snips.
Punch out a handle from Pretty Peacock card stock. Glue the handle to the white. Color about 12" of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Light Purple Posy Blend. Tie in a bow and add to the handle with a glue dot.
Stamp the two different larger flowers twice on a piece of Whisper White. Stamp in Pretty Peacock. Color these in with Light Purple Posy, Light and Dark Pretty Peacock, and Light Old Olive Blends. Fussy cut. Add the flower clusters to the umbrella and boots. You might need to trim down one of the flowers to fit. The flowers, umbrella, and boots are all added with dimensionals.
Finish off with some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment. Some of them have a purple tint to them.
Here's the inside of my card. It's all part of the Under My Umbrella stamp set. For the bottom alternate stamping the two flower clusters. Stamp in Pretty Peacock. Color as on the front of the card.
This was definitely a fun card to make. I hope you will try it!
