Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #599 Poppy Moments Dies
February 13, 2020
Welcome! I'm so glad you are here today. For the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge, we are using the colors Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, and Basic Gray.
For my card, I used the Poppy Moments Dies. They are very popular and there's a reason why. They are gorgeous! If you don't have them, you must!
I started with a card base of Basic Gray. It measures 4 1/4 x 11 and is scored and folded at 5 1/2.
The next layer is Flirty Flamingo. It is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.
The Whisper White layer measures 3 3/4 x 5. Run it through a die cutting machine with the new Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder. This folder is fast becoming a big favorite too.
Cut a 5 1/2 " length of the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding and color it with a Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend. It colors so easily and looks so pretty and it dries so fast. This ribbon is perfect to make any color you want! Love! Run this ribbon down the center of the front layers and tape to the back. Color more ribbon to make a bow to add later.
Now you are ready for the Poppy Moments Dies. You will need to cut 1 large and 3 small solid flowers from Real Red, 1 large and 3 small detailed flowers from Flirty Flamingo, three Basic Gray leaf stems, and 1 full and 3 partial flower centers from Basic Gray. Note that I gave you the numbers to include a small flower on the inside of your card.
Match up the detailed flowers with the solid. I glued these only in the center and allowed the outside free of adhesive. Glue down the centers of all flowers. Add the flowers to the card. All the gray leaf stems. I did trim them to fit and go where I wished. All was glued with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The word Love is from the Forever Blossoms stamp set. Stamp in Real Red on a Whisper White scrap. Fussy cut and add to the card.
Add the bow with a glue dot. I did use a bow maker to make my bows. I wish I could tie a pretty bow on my own, but I admit that I need help!
The inside of the card has a saying from the Forever Blossoms stamp set. Add the other flower down in the right corner.
This card may look hard, but it's really just cutting a few parts and putting them together. This die makes the cards.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll try this color combination!
