Color Fusers Blog Hop for February 2020
February 03, 2020
Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for February of 2020! You might have just come with Sarah's blog. She is one creative stamper! If you are starting here, be sure to visit everyone on the hop. You will be inspired!
Today we are using Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand and Early Espresso. These are so pretty together! I was looking in my stash to see what I wanted to use and decided on the flowers in the Cherry Blossoms Dies. These dies cut and emboss at the same time. Wonderful!
Start with a card base of Blushing Bride that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Fold at 4 1/4.
The background paper for this card is from the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper from the Annual catalog. It's cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8. I wanted to make this layer just a little larger. In hindsight I see that It doesn't make for the best picture, but it is a pretty card! This paper is embossed with the Coastal Weave 3D Embossing Folder.
The Cherry Blossoms die set has a larger curved branch. Cut two from Early Espresso. Place one in the upper left and the other in the lower right of the card. There are 4 different die cuts of the flowers. That's so great to be able to cut so many at one time and have some variation in shape. I used 8 of the flowers (some are on the inside of the card) in Blushing Bride. The inside of the flowers cut two at a time. Cut eight and glue in the center of each flower. There is a die cut that cuts the smaller flowers two at a time. I used 6 of these. Cut from Blushing Bride. I cut 6 more of the smaller flowers in Early Espresso for the centers. Add three large flowers to each branch and a small flower to each branch. Some are glued and some are on dimensionals.
The twine used on this card is the Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine from the Annual catalog. I pulled out the navy strand. You need a length of it to go across this layer of paper. I tape it to the back. I did make a bow to add a little later. Use a glue dot.
The saying is from the So Sentimental stamp set. Stamp it in Blushing Bride and then again in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla card stock. Trim around the words and add to the card front. For the friendship word try to add bits of dimensionals above and below the twine so that it lies flat.
Cut a couple more of the large branches and trim the end pieces to place here and there around the words. Glue the small flowers. Glue the centers and place inside.
The inside of this card has a saying from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. Stamp in Early Espresso. This saying goes perfectly with the saying on the front. A stray mark on my card led to so many flowers on the inside, but I do like it. They do say that mistakes lead to a little more creativity!
Thanks for the visit today. I'm so happy that I could share with you. Next up is Tami. You don't want to miss her project!
