One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for January, Purses, Poppies, and Paris
January 09, 2020
Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for January. We are celebrating the new January-June Mini Catalog with our theme Purses, Poppies, and Paris. You are going to see some great projects, right!
My projects today do have purses and poppies. No Paris! I have to say I'm very excited to share my projects. It's so easy to make great projects with the products in the January-June Mini Catalog!
This is a fun fold card. Start with a card base of Rich Razzleberry that is 4 1/4 x 11. Score at 2 3/4 from each end. Fold in from each end. The folds become the card front. You'll need two pieces of Old Olive card stock that is 2 1/2 x 4 and two pieces of the green stripe paper from the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper that measure 2 3/8 x 3 7/8.
It might be easier to go ahead and stamp the inside of the card. The saying is from the So Sentimental stamp set and is stamped in Blackberry Bliss. Stamp the flower from Painted Poppies in Memento Black. Color in with the Light and Dark Rick Razzleberry Blends and the Light and Dark Old Olive Blends.
The front of the card has three strips. Cut a base of Rich Razzleberry that is 1 x 4. The designer paper is from the Peaceful Poppies DSP. It measures 7/8 x 3 7/8. Remember that you will need three of each of these.
After adhering the layers, place them on your card to see where they need to go. You do want space between each strip. Now glue the top and the bottom. These will be on the left of the card. YOU WILL ONLY GLUE HALF OF THESE! Do not put glue where the strips extend beyond the card. Now glue the middle piece to the right of the card with equal space between the other two strips. Again, you will only glue the half of the strip that is on the card.
The flower is cut using the Poppy Moments dies. Use Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, and Purple Posy card stock for this flower. I made three of the leaves.
Close the card and figure out the placement of the flower. Make sure the leaves don't hang off the card. I did go ahead and attach the leaves to the back of the flower. Actually, attach only the two leaves on the right. You will glue the flower only on the strips that reach over the right of the card. The third leaf goes on the middle strip so that it looks like the leaf is behind the flower when the card is closed.
The sentiment is from the So Sentimental stamp set and cut using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. These to come as a bundle! The saying is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on Whisper White card stock.
I'm not sure this makes a lot of sense so I'll add a video to help you out.
Here is my purse made using the All Dressed Up dies. You will need to cut out two of these images. Make sure they are facing in the same direction. I used the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper green paper. Use a bone folder to crease the fold lines. Some of the lines are between two stitched lines. Be sure you fold on the correct line. Adhere using Tear & Tape. The bottom flap does not go all the way to the edge. Put the Tear & Tape on the flap itself.
Decorate with strips from the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. These were strips that I had left over. They are about 3/8" wide. Trim even with the fold of the purse. I also added handles for my purse from the same paper. Attach with glue dots on the inside of the purse.
Add another flower. I used the smaller flower from the Poppy Moments dies and two of the leaves. Use the same color card stock as in the card. Adhere with dimensionals. The saying is from Forever Blossoms stamp set and cut out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
And what goes inside? I emptied a pouch of York Minis into a 3 x 6 Gusseted Cellophane Bag and tied it with the Mossy Meadow twine from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack and some Linen Thread.
And here are my card and 3D item together.
Here is my video.

Thanks so much, Melinda. I know this fold has been around. I did recently see Wendy Cranford use this fold with the Honey Bee bundle.
