NC Demo Blog Hop for January Sale-a-Brate
January 26, 2020
Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for January. This month we celebrate Sale-a-Bration.
You may have just come from Toni's blog. What a great project! You'll find lots of inspiration so please take the whole hop. NC has very talented stampers! The Sale-a-Bration Brochure is chocked full of great items that are free with purchase through March 31st. Contact me for more information or if you need a catalog.
One of the first stamp sets I got was The Gang's All Meer. It is so cute! The Gang's All Meer is available for free with a $50 purchase. We made this card in my classes recently.
I started with a card base of Call Me Clover that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. Stamp the cactus plant randomly over the card front. Stamp in Call Me Clover.
The detailed accent is cut from another Sale-a-Bration item. It's the Lily Pad Dies. Cut this out in Lovely Lipstick. This cut out will not reach all the way across the card. Simply cut it in half. Glue on to each side of the front. Use Grid Paper to help you keep them straight. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue down the center. Squeeze lightly. The Lily Pad Dies are available with a $100 purchase.
Stamp the meerkats in Early Espresso on Whisper White. Color them using the Light and Dark Crumb Cake blends. Cut these out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies. They are new in the January-June Mini Catalog. Add this panel with dimensionals.
Stamp the birthday hat in Lovely Lipstick on a Whisper White scrap. Fussy cut and add to the center meerkat. Put a little bit of dimensional under the top of the hat and a little glue along the bottom.
The Happy Birthday is from The Gang's All Meer stamp set. Stamp in Lovely Lipstick. This is actually part of a larger saying. Use the Classic Label Punch to punch out just what you need. On this card I trimmed the ends, but you wouldn't have to do that.
I thought the meerkats needed a little fancy so I added a few flowers. I used another Sale-a-Bration item. It's the Small Bloom Punch! This punch is available free with a $100 order. These flowers had a little tender card. First punch the flower from Lovely Lipstick card stock. Using a Sponge Dauber, sponge around the outside of the flower and add a little extra color to the center. With a Bone Folder gently curl the petals back. Now take a Stampin' Pierce Mat. Lay down the flower. I used the wrong end of the retired Piercing Tool to push down on the center of the flower. This pushes the outside up making a beautiful flower with some dimension. Add a sequin center from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins with a glue dot. Add to the card with a glue dot.
Here's a short video showing how to add dimension to the flowers.
I used the Call Me Clover Grosgrain Ribbon for the leaves of my flowers. Cut about 2 inches, fold in half, and use glue dots to add tucked in right under the flower.
The saying on the inside is from The Gang's All Meer. It's stamped in Lovely Lipstick. Stamp the lone meerkat in Early Espresso. Color in with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake blends. Stamp the hat and cut out.
I love how my card turned out. I think you are going to need The Gang's All Meer. You can have it for free with a $50 purchase. I would love to be your demonstrator!!!
Up next is . You will love her project.

Jo Anne - LOVE your card. The background stamping of the cactus plant add so much to the design! And, the critters are just darn cute :) Thanks for the excellent video and tips for making the flowers. They are beautiful. Great meeting you in person at the quarterly.
