Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #597

Welcome to my post for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #597.  This is a color challenge using Cherry Cobbler, Petal Pink, and Pool Party.

CCMC597

There's no stamping on the front of my card.  I used a punch and several die sets.  Let's get started.

CCMC#597 Heart Combo by Jo Anne Hewins

My card base is Petal Pink that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Now cut another layer of Petal Pink that is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Run this through your die cut machine with the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder.  Glue to the card front.

Using the Heart Punch Pack punch a Cherry Cobbler scalloped heart and a Petal Pink heart.

Cut 2 swirls from Pool Party using the Parisian dies

Cut the words love and you from Cherry Cobbler using the Well Written dies from the annual catalog.

Add the swirls first.  I used my Silicone Craft Mat, a piece of sponge, and Multipurpose Liquid Glue to add glue to the swirls.  Glue so that they extend to the top right and bottom left corners of the front.  Glue down the scallop heart.  Add the pink heart with dimensionals.  Glue on the love and the you using the same method as the swirls.

Punch 3 flowers with the Small Bloom Punch.  It's one of the free choices from Sale-a-Bration.  with a Sponge Dauber, sponge extra Pool Party color around the petals of the flowers.  Curl the petals with a Bone Folder.  Add a Champagne Rhinestone to the center of each flower.  Add to the heart with glue dots.

CCMC #597 Heart Combo Punch Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

There's stamping on the inside of the card using the Heartfelt stamp set.  Stamp the large lacy heart in Pool Party and the words in Cherry Cobbler.

NC Demo Blog Hop for January Sale-a-Brate

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for January.  This month we celebrate Sale-a-Bration.

Join us blog

You may have just come from Toni's blog.  What a great project!  You'll find lots of inspiration so please take the whole hop.  NC has very talented stampers!  The Sale-a-Bration Brochure is chocked full of great items that are free with purchase through March 31st.  Contact me for more information or if you need a catalog.

Sale-a-Bration 2020

One of the first stamp sets I got was The Gang's All Meer.  It is so cute!  The Gang's All Meer is available for free with a $50 purchase.  We made this card in my classes recently.

Meercat project by Jo Anne Hewins

I started with a card base of Call Me Clover that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp the cactus plant randomly over the card front.  Stamp in Call Me Clover.

The detailed accent is cut from another Sale-a-Bration item.  It's the Lily Pad Dies.  Cut this out in Lovely Lipstick.  This cut out will not reach all the way across the card.  Simply cut it in half.  Glue on to each side of the front.  Use Grid Paper to help you keep them straight.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue down the center.  Squeeze lightly.  The Lily Pad Dies are available with a $100 purchase.

Stamp the meerkats in Early Espresso on Whisper White.  Color them using the Light and Dark Crumb Cake blends.  Cut these out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  They are new in the January-June Mini Catalog.  Add this panel with dimensionals.

The Gangs All Meer Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the birthday hat in Lovely Lipstick on a Whisper White scrap.  Fussy cut and add to the center meerkat.  Put a little bit of dimensional under the top of the hat and a little glue along the bottom.

The Happy Birthday is from The Gang's All Meer stamp set.  Stamp in Lovely Lipstick.  This is actually part of a larger saying.  Use the Classic Label Punch to punch out just what you need.  On this card I trimmed the ends, but you wouldn't have to do that.

I thought the meerkats needed a little fancy so I added a few flowers.  I used another Sale-a-Bration item.  It's the Small Bloom Punch!  This punch is available free with a $100 order.  These flowers had a little tender card.  First punch the flower from Lovely Lipstick card stock.  Using a Sponge Dauber, sponge around the outside of the flower and add a little extra color to the center.  With a Bone Folder gently curl the petals back.  Now take a Stampin' Pierce Mat.  Lay down the flower.  I used the wrong end of the retired Piercing Tool to push down on the center of the flower.  This pushes the outside up making a beautiful flower with some dimension.  Add a sequin center from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins with a glue dot.  Add to the card with a glue dot.

Here's a short video showing how to add dimension to the flowers.

I used the Call Me Clover Grosgrain Ribbon for the leaves of my flowers.  Cut about 2 inches, fold in half, and use glue dots to add tucked in right under the flower.

Meercat Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying on the inside is from The Gang's All Meer.  It's stamped in Lovely Lipstick.  Stamp the lone meerkat in Early Espresso.  Color in with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake blends.  Stamp the hat and cut out.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #596 Timeless Tropical

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC596

I changed the orientation of the sketch for my card with the Timeless Tropical bundle.  I love that pineapple!

CCMC#596 Timeless Tropical Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The base of the card is Old Olive measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is So Saffron cut to 4 x 5 1/4.  A layer of Soft Suede follows that measures 3 3/4 x 5.

I used the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper for my card.  The pineapple piece was perfect!  Cut three of the rectangles using the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  The one I used measures about 1 3/8 x 3 1/4.  I find it easier to glue the top and bottom rectangles and then add in the middle one.

Cut the parts of the pineapple using the In the Tropics Dies.  The top of the pineapple was cut from the Old Olive paper in the Tropical Oasis paper.  The bottom of the pineapple was cut from the Soft Suede designer paper from the same pack.  Sponge both of these in the same color.  Did you notice that the pineapple top has cut outs that can be curled out to add dimension to the card?

CCMC#596 Timeless Tropical Side Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

I used a piece of the Crushed Curry stripe paper from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper for another layer of the pineapple bottom.  Trace around the pineapple shape on the paper and cut.  I sponged this layer to tone it down just a little.  I crinkled the top layer into a ball in my hand and then carefully pulled it back out.  Add this layer to the pineapple base paper using glue dots here and there.  If needed trim any parts of the base that sticks out.

Add the parts of the pineapple to the card with dimensionals.  It's so cute!

CCMC #596 Timeless Tropical Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Add a bow made from the So Saffron twine from the Sale-a-Bration free pick Metallic Baker's Twine & Sequins Combo Pack.  Use a glue dot!

The saying is from the Bonanza Buddies stamp set.  Stamp in Old Olive and a Whisper White strip.  Trim the ends.  The left side is on dimensionals and the right is attached to the pineapple with glue.

Complete the card with some Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

CCMC#596 Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, stamp a row of pineapples along the bottom of the card in So Saffron.  Start in the middle and work your way to each side.  The saying is from the Timeless Tropical stamp set.  Stamp in Old Olive.

CCMC #596 Timeless Tropical Project by Jo Anne Hewins

As soon as I saw the pineapple in the January-June Mini catalog, I knew it would be in my collection.  I thank you for your time today.  If you need any supplies I'm in the stamping supply business.  My product list below connects to my online store.  I would appreciate your business!
