Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #588 Yummy Christmas

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.

Here is the card that I made using the sketch and the Yummy Christmas stamp set.

I think it's so cute!  Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White.  It's cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2.

The next layer is Shaded Spruce from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  It covers the entire front of the card.

The next layer is from the Let It Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper.   It's cut out with the Rectangle Stitched Dies.  I used the 4th one in.  Add this layer with dimensionals.

Stamp the gingerbread house in Memento Black ink.  Color it with blends.  I used Light Crumb Cake, Light Real Red, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Soft Suede, and Dark Shaded Spruce.  The gingerbread house is cut out using the Cuckoo Clock dies from the Annual Catalog.

The red stripe paper is from the Let It Snow Specialty paper.  It is 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Glue this across the bottom of the rectangle.  Add dimensionals under the parts that stretch out toward the sides.  Trim the strip flush with the sides of the card.

The Shaded Spruce checked paper is cut to 3/4 x 2 1/2.  It's also from the Regals 6 x 6 DSP.  Glue across the top and add dimensionals across the bottom.

Stamp the saying from Itty Bitty Christmas in Shaded Spruce and cut the words apart.  Glue in a line.

Tie a bow with Linen Thread.  Add in two Jingle Bells.  Add to the card with a rolled up glue dot.

Here is the inside of the card.  The words are from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and are stamped in Real Red.  You will need to fussy cut the trees after coloring in Dark Shaded Spruce, Light Real Red and Light Soft Suede blends.

Nature's Beauty & Snow Front

I think that the stamp sets Nature's Beauty and Snow Front work so well together.  To prove my point take a look at my card for today.

Start with a card base of Pool Party measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Early Espresso cut to 4 x 5 1/4.

We'll be stamping on the Whisper White layer that measures 3 3/4 x 5.  For this card we'll be using the masking technique.  We will stamp the deer from Nature's Beauty to the left first.  It's in front of the other deer.  Stamp the deer in Early Espresso ink.  Now stamp the deer again on a sticky note.  Make sure that part of the deer is on the sticky part.  Cut out this deer right on the lines.  Add to the stamped image so that it is covered completely.  Now you can stamp the next deer.  Part of him will stamp on the sticky note, but that is what makes it all look like the first deer is in front.  Stamp the large tree above  the first deer while the sticky note is still attached.  It will make the tree appear to be behind the deer.

Go ahead and stamp the other large tree and the small tress also in Early Espresso ink.  Stamp the saying from the Merry Moose stamp set.

Color the deer using the Light and the Dark Crumb Cake blends.

Use the Light Pool Party blend to color around the trunks of the trees.

The sky is stamped using the largest water stamp from Waterfront.  Stamp in Pool Party.  It doesn't matter that the entire sky be stamped.  The white part looks like clouds.

You can make an additional deer mask for the second deer.  Stamp the smaller water stamp from Waterfront on the snow.  Stamp off first with the Pool Party.

Here is the inside of the card.  Stamp and color the deer as on the front.  Add snowflakes in Pool Party.  This stamp is from Snow Front.  Stamp the scarf in Real Red from Merry Moose on white and fussy cut.  Add to the deer.  The saying, stamped in Real Red is from the Merry Moose stamp set.

Snowman Season Melting Snow Friends

I love the Snowman Season stamp set.  I love snowmen and snowflakes!  My mom and I developed a little thing between us after I moved out.  We would call each other every time there was a snow.  I was just a few miles away, but we liked to be the first one to call.  I am from North Carolina and our snows are not that frequent.  We get a couple a year.  Now mom is no longer with us, but my daughter Jessie and I have carried on the tradition.  She's about an hour and a half away.  We call when we see the first snowflake!  I just love that!

My snowmen today are melting!

Start with a base of Thick Whisper White that is 4 1/4 x 11.  Score this at 5 1/2 and fold.

The next layer is Whisper White measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  On the top 2/3's of the paper, stamp snowflakes from the Snowman Season stamp set.  I used Pool Party ink.  Some are stamped off and some are not.  Run this through your die cutting machine with the Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.

Punch out 2 one inch circles with the 1" Circle Punch.  Add the face of the snowmen using the Let It Snow Embellishment Kit.  I trimmed the bottom of the face of one of them to look a little melted.  Add these near the bottom of the card.  I put a glue dot down near the bottom and a dimensional near the top of the circles.  Add the arms and buttons around the snowmen in a random pattern.  Lay down the scarf and mittens where you want them.  Add the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint liquid all around the arms, buttons, and felt items.  Remove the felt and then heat the liquid with the Heat Tool.  It will puff with heat.  I did find out the the Heat Tool will also melt felt.  I had to replace mine!  So add the felt after you have puffed the paint!  Add the hats with a glue dot at the top of the head and a dimensional.

Tie some of the Shaded Spruce/Gold Striped Ribbon around the card and tie in a knot.

The saying from the stamp set Happy Tails.  Stamp it twice, once in Real Red and again in Shaded Spruce.  Cut around the words and add them with dimensionals.

The saying on the inside is from Playful Penguins.  It's stamped in Real Red.  Add some Pool Party snowflakes.

Birds of a Feather Christmas Card

Hello to you today!  I have a cute Christmas card using the Birds of a Feather.  Don't you love this stamp set.  It has something for four great holidays:  Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine's Day!

This card is part of my Christmas Card Class.  Start with a card base of Pool Party that is cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp over the front of the card with the stars stamp from Birds of a Feather.  Stamp in Pool Party.

The Cherry Cobbler dotted paper is from the Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper.  It measures 1 1/2 x 5 1/2.  The Whisper White strip behind it measures 2 x 5 1/2.  Use the Stitched Be Mine Dies to cut the scalloped edges on the white.  Layer the two pieces and adhere to the left of center on the card front.

Stamp the bird on Whisper White using Memento ink.  Blends were used to color the bird.  I used Light and Dark Pool Party, Light Cherry Cobbler, and Light Pumpkin Pie.  A few people in class wanted to give the bird a cobbler beak.  I see nothing wrong with that!  Punch this out with the 2" Circle Punch.  Cut a coordinating scallop circle from Pool Party using the Layering Circles Dies.  Layer the two and add to the card with dimensionals.   Add a star from the Star Designer Elements.

The saying is from the Birds of a Feather stamp set.  I only wanted the top two lines of the saying.  I used scotch tape to tape off the bottom line.  Ink the stamp, and then, take off the tape.  That last step is super important!!!  The white strip is 3/4 inches wide.  Notch the ends.  Add with dimensionals.  Use glue where the label overlaps the circles.

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is in Cherry Cobbler.  Stamp the bird again and color.  Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Blend for the star.

This is a fun card to make and it comes together pretty easily.  I do love to color!
