Birds of a Feather Christmas Card.

Come Sail Away Christmas Card

Hello to you today!   I have a Christmas card for you that might seem a little strange.  First of all, it uses the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.  That is not Christmas paper.  Second, it's a black and white card.  That's not traditional Christmas colors.

I do have a video for you on this one even though it's pretty easy.

Start with a card base of Basic Black.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is the Sparkle Glimmer paper.  It's cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  This paper is a little more expensive.  I like to cut out shapes from the inside of the layer.  The patterned paper will cover any holes and you have used your glimmer paper to the max!

The Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper is cut to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  With a very thin stream of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue quickly trace the stems and leaves on the patterned paper.  I was not very careful.  Cover with the Ice Stampin' Glitter found in the Holiday catalog.

Use the Frosted Bouquet dies to cut a leaf bunch.  Cover this with the glitter also.  Let these pieces dry.

Adhere the designer paper to the Sparkle paper.  Run a piece of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon down the center of this layer.  I tape from the back using plain scotch tape.  Adhere these layers to the card base.

Stamp the word JOY from the So Many Stars stamp set in Versamark on a Whisper White scrap.  Emboss with Black Emboss Powder and your Heat Tool.  Cut this out with the Stitched Shapes dies.  Add to the card.

Add a bow of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon with a glue dot.  I do use a bow maker to make my bows.  Stampin' Up! does not sell these.

Add the black glittered leaf near the bottom of the circle.

The saying on the inside is from the So Many Stars stamp set.  I added a 1 inch strip of the designer paper with more glitter to the inside.

Here is the video for the card.  Several things did not go quite as expected.  Time played a factor in my not trying again.  I still think it might be helpful!
