Winter Woods Ice Card

Hello to you today!  I have a card for you using the Winter Woods stamp set.  This set is in the Annual Catalog on page 71.  I know you are probably excited about the Holiday catalog, but don't forget that we have some great Christmas stamps and dies in the Annual catalog.  Here's my card for today.

Winter Woods Christmas Ice by Jo Anne Hewins

Melissa Kerman has a technique that she calls Black Ice.  This technique might just be Ice.

Begin with a card base of Real Red measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Cut another layer of Real Red that is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  That's just a tiny bit smaller that the size of the card.  Run this layer through your die cutting machine with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  Be sure to center the paper with the design.  It just looks so much better if you do this.  Adhere the layer with glue.

Cut a layer of Whisper White with the 4th die in of the Stitched Rectangle dies.

Start with a piece of Silver Foil that measures 2 3/4 x 4 1/4.  Stamp the tree in Stazon Black.  I used the Stamparatus to stamp my tree.  Sometimes the Stazon will need to be stamped more than once.  I did use some painters tape on the top and bottom of the foil just barely covering the edge.  I also put the magnets near the sides.  The ink really wants to pull up the paper.

Let the ink dry completely or use your Heat Tool to dry it.

Take a Versamark ink pad.  Starting at the top of the foil pull the open pad straight down.  Repeat until the piece is covered.  Now cover the foil in Clear Emboss Powder and heat.  The surface will not be smooth.  That's the way we want it.  Now cut this piece with the 5th Stitched Rectangle.  Add to the card.

Adhere all of the pieces.  Add some Red Rhinestones to the tree.

The stamp for the saying is from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set.  Stamp in Real Red and punch with the Classic Label Punch.  Glue to the card.

The saying on the inside of the card is from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set.  It's also in the Annual Catalog.

The pine boughs are in Pear Pizzazz and the pine cone is in Soft Suede.  These stamps are in the Winter Woods set.
