Stamping Around the World Blog Hop for October Christmas Gleaming

Welcome to the Stamping Around the World Blog Hop for October. We feature the same stamp set that we used on the Stamping Around the World Tutorials. I used the Christmas Gleaming stamp set and Gleaming Ornaments Punch Pack.

I'm so glad you have joined us! Here is my card using the Christmas Gleaming bundle.

This card is a little different kind of fold. Begin with a base that is Merry Merlot. It is cut the basic card size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Using Thick Whisper White, cut a strip measuring 3 x 11. Score at 5 1/2. Add a piece of the Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper to the front of this small card. It measures 2 7/8 x 5 1/2. There will be a small border of the white showing on each side. Glue this card to the center of the Merry Merlot base. I used my Grid Paper to make sure that this card is in the center of my base from top to bottom.

Cut a strip of the Silver Foil at 1/4 inch. Glue a strip on each side of the small card. Butt this up close to each side. I like to add a piece that is a little longer than needed. That way I can turn the card over and trim to make sure it fits exactly!

There is a little arm that folds over to make the focal point of our card. The Merry Merlot strip is 1 x 5 1/2. Use the Banner Triple Punch on one end. Place the strip the way you want it on the card and fold the rest to the back. Glue the part on the back down.

For the focal point, stamp the saying in Merry Merlot on a piece of Thick Whisper White. Use the Stitched Shapes dies to cut out the square. Simply center the saying.

Stamp two of the holly leaves on Whisper White in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Use Merry Merlot and Garden Green. Paint with the Wink of Stella brush. Press the lid of the ink pad to get ink in the lid. Paint. Be sure to clean the brush between colors. Just drag it on scrap paper until clear. Clean out the lid of the ink pads so the pad will not be contaminated with shimmer.

Glue down the holly on opposite corners of the tag. Near the top cover the & symbol. Be careful when placing glue. If it comes out on the back, you'll end up gluing down the arm. Add the square to the arm so that it is in the center of the specialty paper from side to side.

Here is the inside of the card. The saying is from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set. Add more holly. Hint: Go ahead and make this holly while you are coloring the ones for outside the card.
