Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #585 Sweet Silhouettes

HAPPY HALLOWEEN and welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #585.  Today our color challenge uses Terracotta Tile, Pumpkin Pie, and Basic Black.

CCMC585

I decided these colors made me think of a sunset.  I used the Sweet Silhouettes dies as my focal point on the card.

CCMC#585 Serene Silhouettes by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Basic Black measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Terracotta Tile.  It is cut to 3 3/4 x 5.  The next layer is Whisper White.  It measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.

The Basic Black layer, cut at 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.

The final layer is of Watercolor Paper.  It is just a little smaller than the black layer with 3 1/4 x 4 5/8 as its measurements.  Wet this paper well with your Aqua Painter.  Alternately add Terracotta Tile color and Pumpkin Pie color.  I got ink in the lid of the ink pads for this.  Just squeeze the top and bottom together.  Let this dry.  Scrap around the edges of this layer with the blade of your scissor.

Cut three dandelions from Basic Black cardstock using the Sweet Silhouettes dies.  Add to the front of the card carefully adding glue.  Stamp the word hello from To a Wild Rose in black.  After stamping, I wished I had used the Stamparatus so I could get a good dark word.  I did go back with my Basic Black Stampin Write Marker over my word.

Tie some of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the card and tie in a knot.  Add to the black layer.

Add the black layer to the card with dimensionals.

Add another dandelion to the inside of the card.  The saying again is from the To a Wild Rose stamp set.

Dashing Deer Christmas

Today I'm using the Dashing Deer stamp set and the Detailed Deer dies.  These are found in the Annual catalog.

Dashing Deer Dies by Jo Anne Hewins

Begin with a card base of Thick Whisper White that is 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

Add the Mossy Meadow with leaves pieces of paper from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper measuring 3 3/4 x 5.

Using the 3rd Stitched Rectangle dies, cut a rectangle from Thick Whisper White.  Cut the leaping deer from the center of this layer using the Detailed Deer Dies.  Stamp the saying from Dashing Deer in the lower right corner in Cherry Cobbler.  Add this layer to the center of the card with dimensionals.  Close to the deer use the Mini Dimensionals to get in the small spaces.

I don't usually use retired product, but the bow of Cherry Cobbler twine is retired.

This is a simple card, but I think it is quite striking.

Dashing Deer Dies Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is from Dashing Deer.  The garland at the bottom of the page was placed on the Stamparatus.  Color directly on the stamp with markers.  I used Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write Markers.  By using the Stamparatus, you can stamp more than one time.  I find that coloring directly on the stamp usually needs to be stamped more than one time to get great color.

Capture the Good

I just got the Capture the Good stamp set.  It's in the annual catalog on page 142, and has everything you need for a camera focus.  With all of the holidays coming up, I can "picture" the images in this set being used a lot in scrapbooks.  I have a card for you today.

Capture the Good by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a card base of Basic Black measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The Whisper White layer is cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  There is just a tiny layer of the black showing.

Stamp the camera over the white layer.  I used the brand new Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink.  It's been out of stock, but it's back.  This ink is simply beautiful.  It's dries quickly, but not immediately.  It's shows up great on the white.

Stamp the camera again in Versamark on Basic Black paper.  Emboss the camera with Silver Emboss Powder and your Heat Tool.  Fussy cut the camera.

Run the Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the white layer and tie in a bow to the left of the card.

Add the camera with dimensionals.  Stamp the the heart image in Memento Black.  Color in the heart with a Dark Real Red Blend.  Fussy cut around the circle and glue to the lens of the camera.

Add the word Smile in Real Red ink.

Capture the Good Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of my card.  Stamp the camera down in the right corner in Memento Black.  Stamp this again on a sticky note , making sure that part of the image is on the sticky part.  Cut this one out to make a mask.  Stick down the mask.  Note stamp the words in Real Red ink around the camera.  This makes it appear that the camera is in front of the words.

Add the other saying in Memento Black.

#Simplestamping with Rooted in Nature

I have a super simple card for you today.  There's just some stamping and tying a bow.  That's it!

Rooted in Nature Simple Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The leaves in the Rooted in Nature stamp set, located on page 148 of the Annual catalog, are so pretty!

For this card, start with a card base of Mossy Meadow that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

You will need a piece of Whisper White that is 4 x 5 1/4.  The saying is from the Rooted in Nature stamp set.  Stamp in Cherry Cobbler.

Stamp leaves!  I used Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry,  It's easier to start with the largest leaves and work your way down to the smallest.

Run a length of Linen Thread across the card.  I used scotch tape to hold it on the back of the card.  Add a bow of the Linen Thread with a rolled up glue dot.

For the inside of the card, the saying is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  Stamp leaves in the same colors as on the front of the card.

Rooted in Nature Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

It's just this simple!  This easy card can be stamped in about 10 minutes.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #584 Parcels & Petals

Hello to you today.  Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Today we have a sketch.

CCMC584

I decided to use the Parcels & Petals bundle.  It has the Parcels & Petals stamp set and the Perfect Parcel dies.

CCMC #584 Parcels & Petals Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a card base of Seaside Spray that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp the card front with the largest stamp  Stamp off first.  Now, mine is not really straight on the card, but I don't think that matters that much.

Using the Stitched Nested Labels dies cut out the hexagon from Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  Now cut the design from the inside using the Perfect Parcels dies.  There are two dies.  One cuts the inside of the design and the other cuts the outside.  You can place them one inside the other to cut both at once.  Glue down the hexagon to the base.   After getting out all of the pieces, I glued the design back inside.  I like the way this looks.

CCMC #584 Parcels & Petals Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Along the bottom portion of the card, run a length of the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon.  I glue dotted the end under where my flowers would be and ran it around and glue dotted the other end.

For the trio of flowers stamp on So Saffron in So Saffron ink.  There will be a total of 5 flowers needed.  These will need to be fussy cut.  Take your Bone Folder and curl the petals a little.  The center for the flowers is a stamp from the Beauty & Joy stamp set.  The stamp has a cluster of three stamps.  I just inked one of the clusters.  Layer the flowers in groups of two with a mini dimensional between.  Add the flowers to the card with glue dots.

Cut another of the designs from the Perfect Parcels dies.  Trim the little leaves and add them among the flowers.

The saying, in Early Espresso, is from the Beauty & Joy stamp set.

CCMC #584 Parcels & Petals Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, stamp a row of the detailed stamp across the bottom in stamped off Seaside Spray.  Stamp the trio of flowers punch once again in So Saffron on the same color paper.  Add the centers in Early Espresso from Beauty & Joy.  Cut these out and add to the card with glue dots.  I added another leaf because I had one left over.   The saying is from Beauty & Joy in espresso.
