Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge # 583 To a Wild Rose
October 17, 2019
It's Thursday! Time for another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week we have a color challenge.
I am using the To a Wild Rose stamps set for this challenge.
Start with Thick Whisper White cut to 4 1/4 x 11. Score at 5 1/2 and fold. Burnish with your Bone Folder.
Add a piece of the Pretty Peacock gingham check from the 2019-2021 In Color Designer Series Paper. This is cut to 1 1/2 x 4 1/4. Glue to the lower half of the card front.
The large flower in the To a Wild Rose stamp set can be a 3 part stamp process. I have a video showing how I stamped the flowers for this card. Stamp on Whisper White. I'll tell you the process, but the video might add some clarity. Stamp 3 flowers.
1) Stamp the outline of the rose in Pretty Peacock ink.
2) Stamp the most solid stamp in stamped off Bermuda Bay ink.
3) Stamp the detailed stamp in stamped off Pretty Peacock.
You can match the parts of this flower. I do explain in the video. Find a part of the flower that you see in each stamp. Adhere the stamps so that part is in the same place for each stamp. This will help you match. Here is the video.
Fussy cut out two of the flowers for the front of the card. Cut out the third for the inside of the card. Add about three glue dots to the center of the cards for the front. Add dimensionals around the outside of the flowers. Attach to the cards. Hint: There are dies called Wild Rose dies. I even have them. Somehow I forgot about them.
The leaves for these flowers are made using the Gathered Leaves dies. Spritz the Old Olive cardstock and send the three leaf dies through your die cutting machine. Do these 2 times for a total of 6 leaves. Let dry. Add some of the leaves with dimensionals and some with glue. One of the leaves goes inside.
The saying, in Pretty Peacock, is from the To a Wild Rose stamp set.
Here is the inside of my card. The saying is from To a Wild Rose.
Thanks so much for your time today!
