NC Demo Blog Hop for September Celebrating Fall

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for September.  We are celebrating fall.  I am personally hoping that this tribute to fall will bring some cooler temperatures.  Are you listening fall?  You might have just come from Toni's post.  She is so talented!

I decided to use the stamp set Gather Together from the Holiday catalog.  It has coordinating dies called Gathered Leaves.

Gather Together by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm just going to say that I love this card.  I love Pretty Peacock!  I love that Stampin' Up! has included this color as part of the Come to Gather Designer Series Paper.  It's just not my notion of the typical fall color.  Isn't that wonderful!

The card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp the large leaf from Gather Together in Pretty Peacock over the front of the card.

Add a strip of the Pretty Peacock check down the left side.  It measures 1 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Stamp the saying in peacock on a scrap of Very Vanilla.  Add some of the wheat in stamped off Crumb Cake over the saying.  Punch with the 1 1/2" circle punch.  Using the Layering Circles dies cut a scallop circle from Crumb Cake to frame the saying.  Add to the card with dimensionals.

Gather Together Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the larges leaf on Very Vanilla in Pretty Peacock.  Use an Aqua Painter to spread the peacock color.  This will be very light.  In fact, it really does not show up in the picture.  Let it dry and then cut the leaf out with the Gathered Leaves dies.  Add the leaf with dimensionals so that it overlaps the sentiment circle a little.  Finish off with a Linen Thread bow attached with a rolled up glue dot.

This is a pretty simple card, but that's just a plus!

Gather Together Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  You can see the leaves much better here.  Stamp the leaves and then use an Aqua Painter to spread a little of the color.  The saying is from the Gather Together stamp set.  It's stamped in Crumb Cake.

I am a little obsessed with Pretty Peacock as well and didn't even realize it until I saw you card and thought how great a color it is even for Fall! Love your card. Hopefully, we will get some real Fall weather soon! Thanks for participating!

Looks like we had similar ideas with the use of color this month, Jo Anne! Great minds think alike 😉. And I love this stamp set, I think it’s one of my all time favorites.
