Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #575 Back on Your Feet

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #575.  We are using the colors Terracotta Tile, So Saffron, and Garden Green.

CCMC575

I've just started experimenting with the Sweet Silhouettes tree and decided to include it in my card today.   Here is my project.

CCMC #575 Back on Your Feet by Jo Anne Hewins

I love all the beautiful designer papers that Stampin' Up! has.  Here's how to make the card.

The card base is Terracotta tile 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is from the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  I used the checked So Saffron.  It measures 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

The tree from Sweet Silhouettes is cut from a Garden Green paper from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  I used the sheet with the script, but it really doesn't matter.  Glue to the So Saffron check.  I did use part of the tree on the bottom of the card.  For this I turned my paper over to the back to cut.  I just cut a little since I didn't need the whole thing.

Add the saying from Back on Your Feet on your Stamparatus.  This will allow you to stamp more than once if needed.  Stamp directly on the paper with Terracotta Tile ink.

Stamp the giraffe from Back on Your Feet on Whisper White in Memento Black ink.  I colored the yellow areas in Light and Dark So Saffron Blends.  Since we don't have a Terracotta blend, I used the Terracotta marker from the 2019-2021 In Color Stampin' Write Markers.  Fussy cut the giraffe.  I added him to the card with dimensionals.

Here's the inside of the card.  Stamp the giraffe directly on this layer and color as on the front.  Add a little branch at the bottom.  Stamp the word SIGH... in Memento Black.

Medium Daisy Punch and Tasteful Backgrounds

Hello to you today.  I have a fun little card for you today.

Tasteful Backgrounds with Medium Daisy Punch by Jo Anne Hewins

The base of the card is Coastal Cabana that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Whisper White cut to 3 3/4 x 5.  Using the Tasteful Backgrounds Dies cut the design.  It's just a little below the center and a little to the right.  Run through your die cut machine with the Subtle embossing folder.  Before attaching this layer, add a piece of the Coastal Cabana colored paper from the Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper.  Cut it to 2 x 4.  Add to the base below where the design will be just for a little added interest.  Add the white layer with Foam Adhesive Strips.

Stamp the word FRIEND from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Old Olive, fussy cut, and add to the white layer.  If you wish, you can save a step by stamping the word before you emboss with the Subtles folder.

Tasteful Backgrounds with the Medium Daisy Punch Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Use the Coastal Cabana check paper from the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Stamp the daisy from the Daisy Lane stamp set in Coastal Cabana.  You will need two.  Punch with the Medium Daisy Punch.  Curl the petals of the daisy down with a bone folder.  Attach these together with a glue dot a little askew.  Stamp the center of the flower again on Daffodil Delight.  I used the checked designer paper, but I think cardstock would work just as well.  Stamp with stamped off Coastal Cabana and fussy cut the center.  Add to the flower with glue dots.

Punch 2 of the springs from Old Olive script paper from the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Use the Sprig Punch.  Add the springs to the card and then add the flower.  Use glue dots.

For the inside of the card, fix the stem and saying on the Stamparatus.  You can stamp them both at the same time in Old Olive.  The saying is from the Very Versailles stamp set.  Color in the stem with the Light Old Olive Blend.  Stamp the daisy from Daisy Lane on Coastal Cabana ink on the same color paper.  Fussy cut.  Stamp the flower again on Daffodil Delight.  Again I used the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, I think cardstock would work just as well.  I used stamped off Coastal Cabana.  Glue all to the white layer.

Sweet Silhouettes and Woven Heirlooms

I experimented a little with the Sweet Silhouettes Dies recently.  Don't you just love that tree!  The card I have today is a little out of my box.  You'll have to tell me what you think about it.  I am not an orange person, but something does draw me to this card.

Silhouettes Scenes by Jo Anne Hewins

Besides the tree, my card features the Woven Threads Designer Series Paper.  I used it for the whole card.  Let's see how it was made.

The card base is Terracotta Tile cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  I added a layer of the Woven Threads paper in the Terracotta Tile.  This paper adds just a hint of texture to the card.  I cut this layer 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 to cover almost the entire front of the card.

The tree was cut from the Peacock patterned paper from Woven Threads.  I added it to also cover much of the front.  For this I used my Silicone Craft Sheet, a small glob of Multipurpose Glue, and a sponge.  Try to hold the tree in one place so you don't get glue on the front.

Using the Layering Squares, I made a frame for the lower left of the card using yet another pattern from Woven Threads.  This is glued directly to the card front.

Now stamp the saying from Woven Heirlooms in Pretty Peacock on the Sahara Sand paper from Woven Threads.  Cut the saying apart and glue down the center of the card.

Finish up with a bow of Linen Thread added with a glue dot.

I will say that this is a close up card.  It just doesn't show as well from a distance if that makes sense.  The words would show up better on Whisper White, but that wasn't the look I wanted.

Silhouettes Scenes Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here's the inside of the card.  Now, I love this!  I should probably make it the outside!  I might work on some version of that.  The Sahara Sand paper is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Add parts of the tree cut from the Peacock paper.  These are still all from Woven Threads.  The saying is part of Woven Heirlooms.  Hint:  To get the tree coming from the right side of the paper, turn the paper over and then cut.

I would really be interested in what you think of this card.  Be gentle.

Ride with Me Birthday Card

I love the Ride with Me truck on page 55 of the Stampin' Up! catalog.  The bundle, Ride with Me stamp set and the Truck Ride Dies, has a great 3D truck.  Today I'm using the flat stamp for a  card.

Ride with Me Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The base is Balmy Blue 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Basic Black measuring 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  The next layer is the map sheet from the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper.  It's cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  Add a strip of the blue stripe paper from Come Sail Away that measures 3/4 x 3 3/4.

I set the truck stamp up on the Stamparatus.  I wanted to make sure I got a good strong image.  Stamp in Memento Black ink.  The dies do not cut out the flat truck so you'll have to fussy cut.  Once done use a Sponge Dauber and the Balmy Blue ink to add a little dimension at the bottom of the truck.

The tires are from Basic Black.  The dies have two wheels so you can cut them both at the same time.

I used Gray Granite cardstock for the center of the tires.  I used a retired circle punch for that that measures 3/8".  Stamp the window again on Gray Granite and cut out.  Add to the truck.

Stamp two groups of balloons in Memento Black.  Color using the Light and Dark Balmy Blue, Light and Dark Old Olive, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight, and  Light and Dark Real Red Blends.  Use the Truck Ride Dies to cut out the balloons.

The truck is added directly to the card.  The balloons are taped inside the truck and then dimensionals are used behind the balloons.

Add some of the Silver Metallic Pearls here and there.

The saying is stamped on a 1/2" strip of scrap in Balmy Blue.  It's from the Ride with Me stamp set.

Add another group of balloons to the inside of the card.  The saying is from the Perennial Birthday stamp set.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge # 574 Butterfly Wishes

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #574.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC574

I am using the Butterfly Wishes stamp set for my card.

CCMC#574 Butterfly Wishes Card by Jo Anne Hewins

I've used the sentiments on this set, but I'm just getting into the images.  This set is part of the DistInktive collection.  That means that the detail is fantastic!

My card base is Thick Whisper White that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Pool Party.  It is cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  I wanted a very thin line of the white showing.  I stamped one of the butterflies over the front of the card randomly.  I did stamp off for this.  I just wanted a hint of the butterflies.

I just can't seem to get enough of all of the 6 x 6 designer series papers that Stampin' Up! has this year.  I have a 1 x 4 1/2 piece of the checked Pool Party from the Subtles DSP.  I also added a 1/2 x 4 3/4 strip of Rococo Rose from the 2019-2021 In Color DSP stack.

Set the branch from Butterfly Wishes up on the Stamparatus.  I colored directly on the stamp using Rococo Rose, Pear Pizzazz, and Soft Suede Stampin' Write Markers on Whisper White.  It's hard to tell exactly where to color, but I found that it is going to look great anyway.  I used the Stampartus because I find I like to stamp more than one time when using this technique.  Cut this out using the Stitched Nested Labels.  Put the stamped image a little closer to the top so you have room for the sentiment.

For the butterfly, I inked up the body using my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker.  I then stamped that right on the label.  Now stamp the butterfly in Pool Party on a white scrap.  I did wipe off the body of the butterfly and used my black marker again.  Fussy cut the butterfly and attach to the label so that it matches the antennae.

Add the label with dimensionals.  Put them on the butterfly too where it overlaps.

CCMC #574 Butterfly Wishes Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the saying in Rococo Rose on a 1/2 inch strip of white.  Trim and add to the bottom of the label.

Add a few of the Glitter Enamel Dots.  They are really Coastal Cabana, but I think they look great!

CCMC#574 Butterfly Wishes by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, I repeated the images from the front.  I did not add a sentiment.
