Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #573 Floral Essence

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thurdsay Challenge #573.  Our color challenge this week is Grapefruit Grove, Pretty Peacock, and Sahara Sand.

CCMC573

These colors had me stumped I must say, but I came up with a beautiful card.

CCMC #573 Perennial Flower Punch by Jo Anne Hewins

What is it about the Tin Tile embossing folder?  It seems to make any card special.

I started with a card base of Sahara Sand 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Add another layer of Sahara Sand that is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Run this layer through the die cut machine with the Tin Tile Folder.  Center this sheet in the folder so that all looks symetrical.  You'll be happy you did!  OK, I might be a little OCD about that.

Add a 3/4 inch strip of Pretty Peacock scripted designer paper below the center.  That is found in the 2019-2021 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.

Stamp three of the flowers from Floral Essence that coordinate with the Perennial Flower punch.  Stamp on Grapefruit Grove with the same color.  Punch.  Add these layers together with glue dots a little askew.  Now spritz the flower with water and scrunch up the flower.  Pull out to the way you like it and allow it to dry.  When this dries, the stamping will not show up quite as well.  Stamp the flower center on a piece of Sahara Sand Scrap in stamped off Pretty Peacock.  Fussy cut and add to the flower with a dimensional.  The Mini Dimensionals work great!

Take a piece of vellum and sponge on the back with a dauber and Pretty Peacock ink.  You might want to let this dry a little.  Now cut out three leaves using the die cut from the Frosted Bouquet Dies.

Cut two of the sprigs in Pretty Peacock using the same die set.

To assemble, glue the Peacock sprigs.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue, just a little glob, on my Silicone Craft Mat.  Dab the glue on the sprig with a sponge.  Scrunch up the vellum leaves and pull back out.  Add them with a glue dot near the base of the leaves so you have some dimension.  Add the flower with glue dots.

Using this technique on the vellum would allow you to have vellum in all our colors!

The word friend is cut from Grapefruit Grove using the Well Written Dies.  I glue that word down the same way as the sprigs.  Be careful not to lose the dot of the i.

For the inside of the card, I used the Frosted Bouquet stamp set.  The branch is stamped off Pretty Peacock and the words are in Grapefruit Grove.

I have a video today for this card.
