Color Fusers Blog Hop for August, 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for August.  Today we are using the colors Blackberry Bliss, Pretty Peacock, Bermuda Bay, and Coastal Cabana.  These colors are so pretty together!  You might have just come from Tami's post.  What a beautiful project!  I know you will want to visit all of the site's on this month's Color Fusers Blog Hop!

When I looked at these colors, I thought about circles.  I don't know why.

So I started to work on a background.  I decided to use sponge daubers on watercolor paper.  I spritzed my watercolor paper with water to wet the surface of the paper.  I sponged first with the Blackberry Bliss over the paper and spritzed a little more water.  By sponging for this, I mean that I got ink from the pad on my dauber and then stamped that on the paper.  I continued with the Pretty Peacock, the Bermuda Bay, and finally the Coastal Cabana.  I spritzed more more after each color.

I might get in trouble for this, but I want to say that I used a 4 1/2 x 6 piece of watercolor paper.  I still had some of the old style so I did use that.  After the paper dried completely, I cut it down to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  I have now used up all of the old, and I'm ready to use the new.  Below I have a video that shows how I made the background and cut out the letters.  It does use the new Watercolor Paper.

The card base is Blackberry Bliss that is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next later is Coastal Cabana measuring 3 3/4 x 5.

Use the Hand-Lettered Prose Dies to cut out the letters in the word FRIEND.  I placed these letters across the watercolor paper.  Once I had them exactly where I wanted them to be, I placed washi tape across them to secure.  Then run this through your die cut machine.  Now cut the letters again using fun foam.  Glue the watercolor letters to the fun foam.  Make sure that you keep the inside of the e and d to add back in to the card.  Keep the dot of the I also.  Again, reference the video.

Adhere the watercolor layer to the Coastal Cabana later.  Now glue in the letters in the holes left when you cut the letters out.  I did give each letter a coating of Wink of Stella when done.  Why not!

Using the  Blackberry Bliss color of the Nature's Twine cord, cut about 4 inches.  Pull the strands apart.  Put them back together and tie a loose knot.  Add this to the r with a glue dot.

I used the Well Written to make the word my using the scraps I had left over in the watercolor paper.  I used the m from groom and the y from baby.  I think that turned out quite cute.

A few rhinestones are added from the Nobel Peacock Rhinestones.  I used the Pretty Peacock ones.

For the inside, I stamped again in all the colors with the daubers and then spritzed lightly.  I did use regular Whisper White cardstock.  Let that dry completely and then stamp the saying from Praiseworthy Prose.  Add a little 1/2" strip of left over watercolor paper.
