CASE the Catalog Page 91 Free as a Bird
August 07, 2019
Look on page 91 of your Stampin' Up! catalog. I just love the Free as a Bird sample there. I love it so much that I copied it for a class. The people in class seemed to love it too.
It all starts with the Bird Ballad Laser-Cut Cards & Tin. You get 12 laser-cut cards and envelopes. The envelopes have pretty scallops on them. The tin is beautiful. This would make such a fabulous gift for a card maker. Think about what pretty Christmas cards these would make! Find this on page 168! Back to the card.
The cards and envelopes for this product are Very Vanilla. I cut a piece of Very Vanilla that was 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, just a little smaller than the card front. Then I got out my Silicone Craft Mat and part of a sponge. Sponge our Multipurpose Glue over the back of the die cut. Try not to move the paper so you don't get glue on the front of the card. Add the vanilla layer. You now have a beautiful but solid front to the card.
Cut the largest circle using the Stitched Shapes and Very Vanilla cardstock. Using the Free as a Bird stamp set, stamp the leaves in Old Olive, the small flowers in Crushed Curry, and the large flower in Terracotta Tile. While stamping, stamp a large flower on vanilla scrap for later. Color these shapes in with Colored Pencils. I used Flirty Flamingo, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry. Smooth the color with a Blender Pen. Fussy cut the extra flower.
I used the Crushed Curry Crinkled Seam Binding across the center of the circle. I used about 8" and secured the ribbon with glue dots being careful that it would be hidden with the label when added.
Stamp the saying from Free as a Bird on a piece of Old Olive cardstock. Stamp in Old Olive. Now cut this out using the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Place this label on dimensionals.
Add the extra flower with a glue dot and a dimensional as needed.
Here is the inside of the card. Everything is from the Free as a Bird stamp set.
This is simple to make and just beautiful! Our catalog is just filled with lots of inspiration! Do you find yourself just sitting, looking, and finding things you hadn't seen before? I do!
