One Stamp at a Time (OSAT) Blog Hop for July Down on the Farm

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for July.  Our theme this month is Down on the Farm.  My name is Jo Anne Hewins and I'm from North Carolina in the USA.

I'm not much of a farm girl.  I do own the This Little Piggy stamp set, but it just wasn't speaking to me.  In the description I did see mention of Farmhouse Chic so I'm going with that.  I googled that to see exactly what it was, and I got Chip and Joanna Gaines.  My card is something that I think Joanna would like.

My card base is Thick Whisper White that measures 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.  The next layer is Very Vanilla cut at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Emboss with the Pinewood Plank embossing folder.  Then use your sponge dauber to add a little Smoky Slate ink to it.  This is my version of Shiplap that Joanna uses so much.

Now use the Neutrals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper in Basic Gray.  The scripted paper is 3 x 4 1/2.  Add to the center of the card.  The check paper measures 3/4 x 4 1/8.  Add below the center of the card.

The holder for my flowers is made using the Pocket Die.  Cut from Whisper White.  Score along the bottom to create a base for the flower holder.  Cut this off about 1/4 below the score line so you'll have something to fold in.  Use the Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  Use the Bone Folder to burnish all the fold lines.  Add dimensionals to the pocket and adhere to the card front.  Put them so that the folded lines are just allowed to fold back and not caught in the dimensionals.  It makes the pocket three dimensional.  Sponge some Smoky Slate on this pocket, too.  The iron decoration is made using the Stain Glass Dies.  Cut in black and add to the top of the pocket.  This can be another aspect of Farmhouse Chic.

The word Hello is stamped using the To a Wild Rose stamp set in Memento on white.  Fussy cut the word and add to the pocket.

Color some White Twine with a Light Granny Apple Green Blend.  Run across and add a bow with a glue dot.

For the flowers, I inked up a clear block, spritzed it with water, and rubbed it on Watercolor Paper.  I wanted a variation in my greens.  I tried to get some solid green spaces, some white and green and some mostly white.  I used the Bouquet Bunch Dies.  I cut 3 long stems with leaves in all green and 6 of the small flower clusters in a variation.  I also cut three Very Vanilla stems.  Use your craft mat and a sponge to put glue on the back of these.  Arrange as you please.

Would Joanna approve?

To accompany my card, I made a book mark.

OSAT Down on the Farm Tag by Jo Anne Hewins

Use Thick Whisper White cut to 2 x 6.  Glue down a piece of the Basic Gray check the same size.  Glue well.  Punch at one end with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch.  Now emboss a 1 x 6 piece of Whisper White with the Tin Tile folder.  Sponge with the Smoky Slate.  Punch this with the same punch.  Add to the book mark.  You might try puttin on all the layers and then punching, but it will be hard with so many layers.

Punch a piece of the Basic Gray scripted paper with the Starburst Punch.  Add to the center of the book mark.

I added one of the leaves with the long stem, 2 of the small flower clusters, and one of the Very Vanilla stems.  Top it all off with the word love cut out in Basic Black with the Well Written Dies.

For the top of the tag, use a 3" piece of Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon.  From each end trim down about an inch on each side cutting down the white edging.  Pull out the threads with your Take Your Pick Tool to fringe.  Pull through the hole and tie with Smoky Slate twine.  Make that by coloring White Twine with the Light Smoky Slate Blend.

Mind you, this is a time consuming project.  The Farmhouse Chic design seemed to call for it.  It's certainly doable with the step by step instructions!  I have a video for you.  That might make things easier.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Don't forget to go to all of the blogs on the hop.  I know you will be inspired.
