Free as a Bird and Garden Lane
July 10, 2019
Hi! So glad to see you today! I have a sweet little card using a bird from Free as a Bird, Garden Lane Designer Series Paper, and the branch from Seasonal Layers Dies. A few other products are thrown in there, too. We'll get to it.
Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White. It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4.
Cut a layer of Garden Lane Designer Series Paper to 5 x 5 1/4. Add to the card.
Use the third rectangle in on the Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut a layer from Whisper White. Add a layer of a different patterned paper from Garden Lane that measures 2 x 3 nearer the top of the layer.
Add a branch of Soft Suede across the layer cut from the Seasonal Layers Dies. Part will stick out from each side. Stamp three flowers from Free as a Bird in Memento Black on scrap paper. Color using the Light and Dark Flirty Flamingo Blends. Fussy cut and add to the branch.
Stamp the bird in Memento on white. I used the Light Daffodil Delight, Dark Mango Melody, Light Crumb Cake, and Light Flirty Flamingo Blends to color the bird. Fussy cut the bird as well. Add the bird with dimensionals.
The word Hello is stamped in Mint Macaron just over the designer paper. It is from the Free as a Bird stamp set.
I used the Mint Macaron twine from the Nature's Twine pack. I like to pull the strands apart so that it lies flatter on the card. Tie the twine around the rectangle and tie in a knot. I used three strands of Linen Thread about 3" long side by side and tied this around the knot. I'm trying to decide whether to say the strands lay flat or lie flat. My phone is being charged. Just let it be known that I know enough to question it.
Add some sequins from the Adhesive Backed Sequins.
The rectangle is added with dimensionals.
Here is the inside of the card. All of it is from Free as a Bird.
This card turned out really nice.
