Floral Essence Retirement Card
Inspiring Iris Week - Day 2

A Gorgeous Grape Inspiring Iris Week - Day 1

I have beautiful memories of a patch of irises.  It had many colors and had the best smell.  My mom and I would walk through the patch to see which colors had bloomed that morning.  It's a really good memory.  For that reason, I love irises.  They are dear to my heart.  That's why I knew I would get the Inspiring Iris stamp set and why I am dedicating this week to the stamp set.  So this week I will share cards using this set on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Here is my Monday card.

Inspiring Iris in Gorgeous Grape by Jo Anne Hewins

This is a super simple card except for the cut out.  I'll have a video below to show you how to do that part.  Don't you love it in Gorgeous Grape!

The card base is Gorgeous Grape measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Whisper White cut to 4 x 5 1/4.  You will need the same size Whisper White for the inside of the card, too.

Stamp the irises across the bottom of this layer.  I started in the center with the stems in Garden Green, and then I stamped each side.  Add the flowers in Gorgeouse Grape.    I made sure that the tallest stem fit into the center of the flower.

We will be using the Stitched Nested Labels for the cut out.  You can make the cut out longer by placing the top cutting plate just short of the end of the tag.  This process is a little hard for me to explain well, so I have made a video.  We'll just place that here.

I hope that was helpful.  The label die I used for the white is 1 3/4" wide and the grape is one size up.  It's about 2" wide.

Add the saying in Garden Green.

Use the Tricolor Ribbon.  Just tie it around the tag.  In the video I added the tag with snail.  In my original, the tag is added with dimensionals.  I think either is fine.

I love the simplicity of this card.  You can make it in 10 to 15 minutes!
