One Stamp at a Time (OSAT) Blog Hop - Dino Days
June 13, 2019
Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time (OSAT) Blog Hop. So happy you are here! You might have just come from Mary's post. She has such great projects!
Our theme this month is Something Old, Something New. I have to admit that I'm so excited about the new that it was hard to throw in some of the old. One of the best things about Stampin' Up! is their coordination of products though. I don't have a lot of old, but I do have some. Here is my card.
I am loving the Dino Days Suite found on pages 98-100. The colors in this suite are so fun!
I started with a base of Lovely Lipstick that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. The next layer is Pineapple Punch cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. The next layer is the gingham from the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper in Pool Party. Cut it to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. I also used a strip of the Pear Pizzazz from this same pack that is 1/2 x 4 7/8.
With all that done you are ready to stamp! You will need 5 tree limbs stamped in Pear Pizzazz on Pear Pizzazz. One tree trunk stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White. One dinosaur stamped in Lovely Lipstick on white. One row of dino plates stamped in Daffodil Delight on white. The love you saying in Lovely Lipstick on white. All of that is from the Dino Days stamp set. Fussy cut the saying. Use the Dino Dies for the rest. You will also need three groups of hearts from the Love You to Pieces stamp set. Stamp in Lovely Lipstick and fusssy cut.
Assemble.
Decide where to put the tree trunk. The dinosaur must touch the ground, but the end of the tree can be hidden behind him so that it appears to be taller. The tree branches are attached with a glue dot for the center part and a dimensional behind the outer part.
When you cut out the dino plates, there is a section left to use to attach them to the dinosaur. I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Attach the dinosoaur with dimensionals.
Run a length of the Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon around the card. Add the saying. I used glue and dimensionals. Add a knot of the ribbon.
Glue down the hearts.
So, my old stuff is the Lovely Lipstick, Pear Pizzazz, and Pineapple Punch paper and the Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon. The Love You to Pieces stamp set for the hearts was also old. Everything else was new!
To go along with the card, I decided to make a sour cream container. This 3D item has been made for a long time. They are great to hold a treat and so easy to make. I used the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper cut at 4 x 6. I used Tear & Tape to put the container together. First put the tape down the 4 inch side and attach to make a cylinder. Push one end of the container flat at one end. I do it so that the seam is in the middle. Put down a strip of Tear & Tape down in the opening and push closed. Now is the time to add your treat! Turn the container on it's side and flatten the ends. Add more Tear & Tape in there and push the end closed.
Decorate with a loop of Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon, a Pool Party Starburst punched out, another dinosaur, and a saying. The saying is from the Dino Days stamp set with the hearts from Love You to Pieces added.
The old stuff for this was the Pool Party Starburst and the ribbon and the hearts!
Here is a video showing how to put the Sour Cream Container together. Let me know if you found it helpful.
Thanks so much for joining me today. Please continue on the hop to see more use of something old and something new. We all have both, don't we!
