Garden Lane Designer Series Paper with Good Morning, Magnolia

NC SU Demo Blog Hop, A Fond Farewell to Some Favorites

Welcome to the NC Stampin' Up! Blog Hop for May.  It's a bitter sweet hop because we are saying goodbye to so many wonderful products.  It's hard to do, but it's a necessary evil.  Just wait until you see what's coming in that new catalog!  You may have just come from Anita's blog.  What a project!  So glad you are here.

Today I pay tribute to several of my favorites.  My card features the outgoing In Colors, the Wood Crate Dies, and the lovely Falling Flowers and coordinating May Flowers Dies.

Falling Flowers Goodbye for NC Blog Hop by Jo Anne Hewins

So, yes, this card has a lot to it.  Yes, it took a while to make it.  No, it is not hard!  Before I start let me say that retiring items are while supplies last.  I know that some of these products will no longer be available when you read this.  That's sad, but just the way it is.

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.  Add a layer of Lemon Lime Twist designer series paper.  This paper comes from the In 2017-2019 In Color DSP, retiring.  It's cut to cover the entire front of the card, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue this.  That allows you just a little give when placing it.

Use the Wood Crate Dies to cut the front of the crate.  The paper is from the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper.  Oh, sadness, yes, it is retiring (gone).  I cut another piece of the wood textures to go behind and hide the slats.  Add with dimensionals.

Now, it's time to make lots of flowers.  I used the Watercolor Paper, retiring, but being replaced, and an Aqua Painter.  The flowers are a tribute to the outgoing In Colors.  I used Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig, and Powder Pink.  All are retiring!  Press the lids of the pads to get color to use.  Stamp the flowers in Stazon.  Color.  I just stamped a bunch of flowers using the Falling Flowers stamp set, retiring.  I did add in Daffodil Delight and something new, Seaside Spray!  Cut it all out with the May Flowers Dies, retiring.

Now, just arrange the flowers.  Stick them where you think they look good.  I didn't necessarily stick to using odd numbers of flowers, but I like it.  I used dimensionals, glue dots, and glue to get it all put in there.  Have fun!

The sentiment is from the Wood Words stamp set, retiring.  Stamp in Fresh Fig.  Punch with the 1 inch Circle Punch.  The frame is punched using the 1 1/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  Add a beautiful bow of Linen Thread with a glue dot.
