Artistically Asian for You

I love the Artisically Asian stamp set.  But, I can honestly say that I have a hard time using it.  I don't know why.  Here is my card for today.

Artistically Asian by Jo Anne Hewins

I do like my card.

The card base is Thick Whisper White.  It's cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The Lovely Lipstick layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

The Call Me Clover layer is cut to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Stamp over this layer with the stalk stamp randomly in Call Me Clover ink.  I love the bit of interest that it adds to the card.

Set up the flower stamp on the Stamparatus.  The Whisper White piece is 2 1/4 x 3 3/4.  Use the Lovely Lipstick and the Call Me Clover Stampin' Write Markers from the 2018-2020 In Color markers to color directly on the stamp.  You can color and stamp again if needed.  Stamp the Asian symbol with Lovely Lipstick.  Use the #6 rectangle from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut out this white layer.  Use the next larger #5 rectangle framelit for the Lovely Lipstick layer.  I cut that paper 2 1/2 x 4.  Add these layers to the left of the card.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set.  Stamp in Lovely Lipstick on Whisper White.  Punch this out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  The frame is punched from Lovely Lipstick using the 1 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  Add these with dimensionals.

Artistically Asian Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside of the card uses another saying from Itty Bitty Birthday stamped in Call Me Clover.  Stamp another flower using the Stamparatus and markers.  I just used a Whisper White scrap.  Punch out with the same punches used on the front.

Artistically Asian Card for Whisk & Barrel by Jo Anne Hewins

This is a pretty easy card and could really be used for any occasion.  I believe that the Asian symbol means friendship.  Please send me a comment if that is not correct!  We will be making this card at the Whisk & Barrel in downtown Newton, NC on Tuesday, April 23rd!  Let me know if you want more information!

OSAT Blog Hop for April Spring Fling

Welcome to the OSAT, One Stamp at a Time, Blog Hop for April.  We are celebrating Spring!  I'm Jo Anne Hewins from the USA.  I'm so happy you are here!

Spring is finally here.  Seems like it's been a long time coming!  This is a wonderful time of year even though we have lots of pollen, I'll take the warmer weather!

This is the perfect time to pull out the Daisy Punch!  I'm going to start with my 3D project this time.

OSAT Daisy Punch Frame by Jo Anne Hewins

I admit that I made these daisies for another project and I had some left over.  I thought they made a perfect frame for spring.  Each daisy has three layers of Whisper White.  Use your Bone Folder to curl the petals.  I curled the petals of two layers up and one layer down.  The sandwich is layer down, layer up, layer down.  I used glue dots between each layer.  Don't be afraid to play around with the petals and get them the way you want them.  The center of the flowers is punched with the 3/4" Circle Punch from the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper.

This frame came from Michaels.  It is 6 x 6.  The background paper is from the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper in Balmy Blue.  Add the daisies with dimensionals.  The stems are a 1/8" wide strip of Mint Macaron from the same paper stack.  Add the Foam Adhesive Strips to the back.  The leaves are punched out with the Lemon Builder Punch.  Add with a glue dot at the base and a mini dimensional out at the tip.

OSAT Daisy Punch Close Up of Frame No Frame by Jo Anne Hewins

The Well Written Framelits were used to make the word spring.  I did have to piece together several words.  I got the s and p from the word sympathy, the g from the word groom, and the ri and n from the word friend.  Just cut the letters apart and then put them together for the word spring.  I used Shaded Spruce cardstock for this.  The Time comes from the stamp set Happy Birthday, Gorgeous.  Cut this out with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Hint:  Keep up with the dot from the i.

OSAT Daisy Punch Whisper White Flower Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the card that accompanies my frame.  The card base is Thick Whisper White measuring 4 1/4 x 11.  Score this at 5 1/2 and fold.

The front of the card is covered with Balmy Blue paper from the Subtles paper that is cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Add a daisy to the card.  The stem and leaves are made the same as in the frame.  No foam adhesive was used here.

The word friend is from the Well Written Framelits.

I think these make a cute pair!

Thank you for taking the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop.  I hope you will continue to see all of the projects for spring!  Again, I'm Jo Anne Hewins.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #556 Beach Happy

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Today we have a sketch.

CCMC556

I used the Beach Happy stamp set for my card.

CCMC#556 Beach Happy by Jo Anne Hewins

Begin with the a card base of Balmy Blue that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.  Stamp the wave stamp in Balmy Blue.

The rectangle is cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits #4.  Use the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper.   The little end pieces are 1/2 inches wide and are from the same paper pack.

The chair and umbrella are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  I used the Stamparatus to make sure I had a good image.  The umbrella is colored with the Light and Dark Mint Macaron and the Light and Dark Night of Navy Blends.  The chair bottom is stamped in Night of Navy.  I did make a mask from a sticky note for the chair bottom and then added a few more waves with Balmy Blue.  Cut this out with the Stitched Shapes Framlits.

Happy Birthday, Robby! with the Well Said Bundle

Today is my son-in-law Robby's birthday.  I always make him a special card.  This year my time was limited due to a long To Do list.  I do like the card, though.  Here it is.

Robby's birthday card with Sagan by Jo Anne Hewins

My husband has found an app that turns photos to black and white.  It's called Pencil Photo Sketch.  I picked this picture of Robby and Sagan going down a slide in a nearby park.  Trim the picture so that it will fit behind the frame.  The frame is cut out using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.  I used the #2 and #4 counting from the outside.  Use Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  Add the frame using the Foam Adhesive Strips.

The birthday is in Balmy Blue is cut with the Well Written Framelits.  Add to a piece of Whisper White.  Stamp the WISHES  from Well Said in Lemon Lime Twist.  The Well Said Bundle is just fantastic!  Cut out with the second rectangle from the bottom group of rectangles.  Wrap some of the Linen Thread around one end and fray the ends.  Add across the card front.  Use snail on the ends and more of the Foam Adhesive Strips.

Robby's Birthday Card Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card use the Well Written Framelits.  I used the words love you and the exclamation mark.

So, this was a pretty quick card and one that I hope Robby will love.

All That You Are Plus Vellum

Hello!  I hope all is well today.  I'm using the All That You Are stamp set for a cute card with vellum.

All That You Are Vellum by Jo Anne Hewins

Today I'm also participating in Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop.

Image may contain: outdoor and text

Thanks for joining me.  I'm Jo Anne Hewins from the USA.  I'm go glad you are here!

I have to say that I have posted two other cards with this set and they all use reddish colors.  I am here to say, other colors can be used!  I'll link to the other cards at the end.

For this card start with a card base of Calpso Coral measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Basic Black cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  There is a Whisper White layer that is 3 3/4 x 5.

The Vellum Cardstock measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Rub this layer with the Embossing Buddy.  Line the large stamp up with this layer in the Stamparatus.  Stamp with Versamark ink.  Use Black Emboss Powder and your heat tool to make the outline of the stamp on the vellum.  Color on the back of the vellum.  Use Dark Daffodil Delight, Light and Dark Calypso Coral, and the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Blends.  I suggest several layers of color to make it a rich color.

The Handwritten background stamp is used on the Whisper White layer.  I didn't want to stamp behind the flower.  So I stamped the flower image on a piece of scrap paper and cut around it quickly leaving about 1/4 inch around the edges.  Use the vellum to help you know where to place the mask on the white paper.  Then using the Stamparatus, stamp the background over the layer.  Remove the mask.  I sponged some of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back of the vellum behind the flowers and placed on top.

The saying is from the All That You Are stamp set.  Stamp in Calypso Coral on Whisper White and punch out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  Punch a frame from Granny Apple Green using the 1 3/8" Scallop Punch.  Add to the lower right corner.  Add a bow with the Calypso Coral Satin Ribbon and a glue dot.

All That You Are Vellum inside Jo Anne Hewins

Add a saying to the inside from the same set.  The flower is colored with Blends.

I want to add another card here made by my friend Jan at class.  We changed the colors to Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather and left off the vellum.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my post today.  I hope you will continue on the hop.  There are so many great projects!
