NC Demo Blog Hop for April Celebrate

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for April.  I'm so glad you are here.  You might have just come from Tina's blog.  Great project!  If you are starting here, I'm so glad you are here.  Don't miss a single post!

Join us blog

For this April hop we are to choose our favorite spring holiday or occasion.  I'm going to hedge a little on this.  While this is my new favorite spring event, it won't be for the rest of you.  My little Sagan, just turned one and that's one grand event for Grammie!  Of course Sagan had a party designed around the stars and the galaxy.  She's named after Carl Sagan, after all.  Do you remember him?  So here is my card to celebrate the occasion.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by Jo Anne Hewins

The Little Twinkle stamp set and the Twinkle Builder Punch will continue in the new catalog.  You can still save 10% by ordering the bundle before June 3.  The Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper is going to retire. This group was perfect for Sagan's birthday card.

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White that is 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and fold.

The Twinkle Twinkle Petal Pink paper is cut to the same size as the front of the card.  That's 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I like to glue this layer.  The glue has just a little give to get the paper in exactly the right place if you work quickly.

The saying is stamped on Shimmery White cardstock in Pool Party.  I used a brand new sneak peek die to cut this out.  It's called the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.  Don't you love it!  Just go ahead and put it on your Wish List!  Add this layer to the card with dimensionals.  But first, wrap some of the Silver Metallic Thread around about 4 fingers 4 or 5 times.  Slip that off and adhere to parts of the dimensionals on back.  Move the thread around a little until you are happy with it.  Then turn it over and adhere.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Close Up of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

I took another length of the silver thread and added it around the card with about 5 rolled up glue dots here and there.  Stars were cut using the Twinkle Builder Punch and the star die from the Wood Crate Dies.  The Wood Crate Dies are also going to retire.  Add the stars around the thread making sure to hide the rolled up glue dots.  I used stars cut from the Twinkle Twinkle patterned paper, stars from Shimmery White cardstock, Silver Foil, Silver Glimmer Paper, and Sparkle Glimmer Paper.    Finish up with a few Rhinesone Basic Jewels.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Card Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here's the inside of the card.  The saying is from Little Twinkle and stamped in Pool Party.  Add more stars!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Card by Jo Anne Hewins

I think this is a really cute card.  Since, this just might not be your favorite spring celebration, I have an alternative to offer you.  I think this could be a great graduation card!  Turn it sideways.  Add GRAD in Sparkle Glimmer paper with the Large Letters Dies.  Now decorate with all kinds of stars.  I didn't have time to make one yet, but I might give it a try.  I'll post it if this idea becomes reality.  You could use STAR for lots of other occasions!

Thanks you joining the NC Demo Blog Hop.  Please continue so you can see other celebrations!  Up next is Laurie .  I can't wait!

More Retiring Stamp Sets Revisited

This week I have been revisiting some of the stamps sets that are one the Last Chance Products List.  I don't want you to miss out on stamp sets that you want.  They'll be gone before you know it.

You're Inspiring

This card uses the You're Inspiring stamp set.  It's colored with Blends.  That designer paper is long gone.  Soon this stamp set will be, too.  Find the post here.

CCMC#497 Falling Flowers Luv 2 Create

I might regret most that Falling Flowers is going away.  It was so much fun to color.  This post is here.

Hanging Garden using the Stamperatus

Hanging Garden in Real Red and Smoky Slate Luv 2 Create

These two cards use the Hanging Garden stamp set.  The post for these cards is here.  These are so pretty!

Southern Serenade with Copper Emboss by Jo Anne Hewins

Here I used the Southen Serenade stamp set and embossed in Copper Emboss Powder.  It's on a watercolor background.  Find it here.

One Wild Ride by Jo Anne Hewins

One Wild Ride is going away.  You know, that set just didn't see enough love from me.  I'll probably keep it though just in case.  Find this card here.

While we're talking about wheels, how about this card.

CCMC #517 by Jo Anne Hewins

Bike Ride is saying goodbye.  The post is here.  I also featured this set only last week here.

CCMC#557 Bike Ride by Jo Anne Hewins

Of course this doesn't cover it all, but you can see that some really great sets are retiring.  I don't want you to miss them.  They just might need a place on your shelf.

Thanks for taking this little trip with me.  I hope it brought you some good memories and helped you see just some of the sets leaving us.  I appreciate your time!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #558 Bloom by Bloom

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #558.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC558

I have used the Bloom by Bloom stamp set from the Occasions catalog.  This set will be retiring along with the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper.

CCMC #558 Bloom by Bloom by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White that measures 4 1/4 x 11.  Score this at 5 1/2 and fold.  Use your Bone Folder to burnish.

Cut the large night of navy dots paper from the Happiness Blooms DSP to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue this in place over the front of the card.

I had a scrap of the Calypso Coral that was 5/8 wide and 4 1/4 wide.  Angle cut each end and add this just below the center of the card.  I always use the Grid Paper to help me make sure a layer like this is straight.

Stamp the large flower image and stem using Calypso Coral and Call Me Clover ink on Whisper White.  Add the Night of Navy dots above the flower and scattered around.  Cut this out using the Layering Circles Dies.  Stamp the small flower in Calypso and fussy cut.  Add this with dimensionals.  Glue to the card front.

CCMC # 558 Bloom by Bloom Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Using Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp the saying in Calypso Coral.  Punch with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  Punch a frame of Calypso Coral using the 1 3/8" Scallop Punch.  Add with dimensionals.

Stamp the leaves again and fussy cut these.  Add glue at the base of the leaves and dimesionals at the tips of the leaves.  Add to the left of the circles.  I see now that the sketch adds to the right of the large circle.  That's what I get for not looking at the sketch carefully.

CCMC # 558 Bloom by Bloom Inside of card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here's the inside of the card.  Please excuse the shadows.

CCMC # 558 Bloom by Bloom by Jo Anne Hewins

With this set and the patterned paper on the Last Chance List, I wanted to use that paper.  It is a little busy, but I like it.

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you will take a look at the other samples from the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Let me earn your business.

The next cards will show the Apron of Love stamp set.

Apron of Love stamping card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card was made in May of 2018.  The colors in the pocket were the new In Colors coming in!  I made this for some fellow demonstrators!  The apron reminds me of the Stampin' Up! apron.  The patterned paper is from Tranquil Textures.  It's also retiring!  My post is here.

Apron of Love for Father's Day by Jo Anne Hewins

This card was made for Father's Day or a male birthday.  Did you know that the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper is also retiring?  Ugh!  The Brights Designer Series Paper is also on the way out.  The post is here.

I have several cards using Lemon Zest and the Lemon Builder Punch.  I hate to see them go, too.

Lemon Zest swap card made by Jo Anne Hewins

I made this card for my OnStage swap last May in Atlanta.  I used hinge stamping with what was then the brand new Stamparatus.  The blog post is here.

CCMC #523 Lemon Zest by Jo Anne Hewins

This is my favorite Lemon Zest card.  Thank goodness the Buffalo Check background stamp is sticking around!  Go here to find the post.

Fabulous Flamingo with Waterfront card

We'll be saying goodbye to Fabulous Flamingo.   Sadness.  For this post go here.

So here are 4 great sets that are part of the Last Chance List.  Don't miss out on Oh, So Eclectic, Apron of Love, Lemon Zest or Fabulous Flamingo.

Ode to the Large Letters Alphabet

Were any of you a little surprised that the Large Letters Alphabet dies are on the Last Chance List?  Maybe a little sad?  I know that all good things must come to an end in the stamping world.  Really!  We must make room for more!

Ode to the Large Letter Alphabet

For your purchase I went into debt.

And now you are labeled as Last Chance.

But my collection you'll continue to enhance.

There are many more words that I must make

And you will help me to create!

I do get rid of most of the retiring product.  I do need to make room for more, much more.  Wait until you see the new catalog!  But I will hold on to my Large Letters Dies.  If you don't have them, you might want to act quick!  Soon they will be no more.

Today I'm going back in time to share some old projects that used these dies.  Join me on my little memory lane.

Hello Animal Outing card by Jo Anne Hewins

The Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper is also going away.  I love how this card turned out.   The post can be found here.

SNOW with Large Letters and Spirited Snowmen by Jo Anne Hewins

The Spirited Snowmen set is gone, but don't you love how he is peeking out from the letters!  The Softly Falling Folder is on the Last Chance list too.  My post for this card is here.

Gramps with the Large Letter Framelits by Jo Anne Hewins

This is probably my favorite oldie card for today.  Many of you are aware that we have a new granddaughter.  This was my birthday card for my husband John for his first birthday as a gramps.  Did you know that all of the family (Subtles, Neutrals, Brights, and Regals) designer series paper is retiring?  Oh, my!  So is the Swirls & Curls folder.  Go to this post here.

Vintage Leaves and Large Letters

This is an eclipse card from the fall of 2017.  If you would like to see this post go here.  The leaf set is long retired.  These letters are perfect for this technique.  I used it again with this Disney card that I made for a friend.

Love Disney Eclipse card

You can find this post here.  This is from November of 2017.

That's all for today.  I urge you to get the Large Letters dies before it is no more!  These are while supplies last!

Thanks for joining me today.  I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday.  Please follow me on Pinterest here.
