Picked for You My Friend

I challenged myself to use a stamp set that has never seen ink.  Now maybe you don't have that problem.  I admit it, I do.  If I'm truthful, I have several!  So today I am using the Picked for You stamp set.  It's in the annual catalog on page 171.  I'm a retired mostly first grade teacher so the set appealed to me.  The set is perfect for that special teacher gift and the end of the school year will be here before you know it.  That's not what I have made today.  I must also give credit to Sue Mohr for the inspiration I got from a card she has posted with this set on Pinterest.

I think the reason I put off using this set is because it's a four step stamp for the apple.  It was a little daunting for me.  So I will also tell you that the Stamparatus is your friend.  It wasn't that hard!  I'll have a video at the end of my post.

Start will a card base of Thick Whisper White that is cut 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and fold.

I used the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper for this card.  It's still available as a choice for Sale-a-Bration.  Don't miss out!  This paper is so pretty!  Cut the Pool Party paper to the same size as the card front 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and adhere.

The Rectangle Stitched Framelits have become a staple in my stamping world.  I love them!  I used the #2 and #5 to make the frame from Whisper White.  Glue to the card.

The branch was cut in Soft Suede using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  I've almost hidden it with the leaves.

The leaves are cut from the Call Me Clover piece of paper from the Painted Seasons DSP.  I used the Lemon Builder Punch.  I used glue dots and dimensionals to add the leaves.  For some I even used my Bone Folder to curl them a little.  I'm sure mailing will flatten those down, but they look so nice right now!

So, the apple.  Actually the parts of the apple are numbered.  I started with one.  There is also a V shaped cut out at the top of the stamp so you'll know the direction.  Use the Stamparatus, of course!  I used the colors Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Lovely Lipstick, and Soft Suede in that order.  I would set it all up using scrap paper and the go to the real thing.  When done, I went over the apple with my Aqua Painter.  Fussy cut and add to the card on dimensionals.

For the sentiment, stamp on Whisper White in Cherry Cobbler.  Cut this out with the Stitched Labels Framelits.  Add to the card with dimensionals.  I tied a little knot with the Call Me Clover Grograin Ribbon and added it with a glue dot.

Here is the inside of my card.  I added a one inch strip of the Pool Party paper and 2 more leaves from the Call Me Clover paper.  Don't you love the saying!  You can see this set isn't just for teachers.

Here is my video.  I got the mat a little crooked after using the Big Shot.  I think you can still see everything all right.  Sorry about that!
