Welcome to another NC Demo Blog Hop!  Our March hop is all about Cute Critters!  Stampin' Up! has some great stamps with animals.  I'm so happy we are sharing ideas with them!  You might have just come from Tracie's blog.  What a great project!  Be sure to visit all of the blogs and get some great ideas.

I am using the stamp set A Little Wild.  This set is on page 85 of the Annual Catalog.  It's in with the Kids and Babies section.  Don't miss it.  A Little Wild is actually a tag set.  You can make great tags that have the front and back of the animal.  I used it in a different way.

A Little Wild Fishing Line Card by Jo Anne Hewins

There is a hole in the front of this card.  The lion is suspended on fishing wire so that he can twirl.  You can see the front and the back of the lion, so you can see why this stamp set is so perfect!

I will have a video at the end of this post to help explaing the process for this card.

Start with a card base of Shaded Spruce that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.

I used the Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper for my card front.  Cut it 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Adhere this paper to the front of the card.  Keep in mind that you will be cutting out the center when adding adhesive.  You might even just lay down the circle on the card to help with adhesive placement.

Use the Layering Circles Framelits to cut a circle out of the center of the card.  Keep the patterned paper to place inside the card later.

Use the same circle to help create a frame around the hole in your card front.  Find a larger scallop circle.  I run these through the Big Shot at the same time and try to center them.  You won't need the inside of the circle.  Use Shaded Spruce cardstock.

Using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, stamp the lion on Whisper White cardstock.  It will stamp the front and the back.  Color both with Blends.  I used Light Crumb Cake, Ivory, and Light and Dark Soft Suede.  The Little Loves Framelits coordinate with this set.  Cut out the lion.  Now cut the front from the back in the center.  Now place the two back to back and trim so that they match each other.  Glue these parts together but first tape down some fishing line down the center between the two pieces.

The leaves are stamped in Shaded Spruce and the flowers are in Blushing Bride.  Stamp them on Whisper White.  Use the stamp set Tropical Chic stamp set.  Cut these out with the Tropical Thinlits.  Glue the leaves close to the circle.

A Little Wild Fishing Line NC Blog Hop for March by Jo Anne Hewins

You want the lion fishing wire to be mounted well!  I used a small piece of Tear & Tape on the paper just on the edge of the circle.   Place the line.  I even put another little piece of Tear & Tape on top of the line.  Trim excess line away.  Glue down the frame around the circle to hide the tape.  Now add the flowers.

The saying Wild About You is from the stamp set Animal Outing.  Just trim around the words with snips.

A Little Wild Fishing Line Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Add a piece of Whisper White inside the card that is 4 x 5 1/4.  Close the card so that you can put down the remaining patterned paper circle exactly where it needs to go.  The saying inside is from the Birthday Cheer stamp set.  Add another flower stamped directly on the paper.

Thanks so much for joining us today.  I hope you will try this card or something similar.  It's a lot of fun.  Our next project is by Laurie.  You will love what she has to share.

Lasting Lily Sympathy by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base for this card is Fresh Fig cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Cut another piece of the same color that measures 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Run this piece through the Big Shot with the Lace Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder.  This is definitely a wow folder.  It brings a fance elegance to this card.  Glue to the base of the card.

For the focal point the Lemon Lime Twist layer is 2 7/8 x 4 1/8.  The Whisper White layer is 2 3/4 x 4.  All of the stamps for this card are from the Lasting Lily stamp set.  It is really versatile.  The stamp pads used are Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #554 Needle & Thread

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC554

Don't you just love this sketch.  At first I thought it would be hard, but it was really easy just to plug in some flowers.  I chose to use the stamp set Needle & Thread from page 39 in the Occasions Catalog.  There are also some great samples with this bundle on page 38.  Yes, this set does have the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies that coordinate.

CCMC#544 Needle & Thread Lemon Lime Twisy by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Do you see the beautiful stitching on the base of the card?  It's made using the framelits!  I put the larger flower and leaves on the top left and the little curlies at the bottom right.

The Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper also coordinates in this suite.  I used the largest of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits of the four that nest together.  Add to the bottom center of the base.

The largest flower is stamped in Berry Burst.  These stamps are part of the Stampin' Up! offerings of the Distinkive stamps that show so much detail.  They are marvelous.  The three smaller flowers are in Balmy Blue.  the greenery is actually one large stamp with a space for a flower.  I just cut it in half and used one with the largest flower and another with the lower right flower.

CCMC#544 Needle & Thread Lemon Lime Twist Class Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying is from the Needle & Thread set stamped in Berry Burst on white scrap.  Cut this out with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.

CCMC #544 Needle & Thread Lemon Lime Twist Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

So here is the inside of the card.  It's all part of the Needle & Thread set and is stamped directly to the insert.  Easy!

I made this card first in Whisper White.  Here is that card.

CCMC #554 Needle & Thread Card in Whisper White by Jo Anne Hewins

Everything is exactly the same except for the base.  I just can't decide which card I like best.  I, myself, am drawn to the Whisper White, but I know the Lemon Lime Twist is much more colorful.  Which do you like?

CCMC #554 Needle & Thread by Jo Anne Hewins

I haven't seen a lot of samples with this bundle.  I think it is so pretty.  Take another look at it.

Thanks for joining me today.  I appreciate that you spent a little of your day with me.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Let me know how I can help you.

Springtime Impressions and Botanical Butterfly

That Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper from Sale-a-Bration is some of the prettiest paper ever!  I am a sucker for black and white and one side of this paper is all black and white!  Today I have a sympathy card for you.  It's part of my sympathy card class I'm having this week.

Springtime Impressions Sympathy by Jo Anne Hewins

I do feel that you could change the sentiment on this card and it would work for any occasion.  I think it could even be a wedding card!

Start with a card base of Basic Black that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold at 4 1/4.

The black and white butterfly paper is cut at 2 x 5 1/2.  Add to the left of the card.  Now run a piece of Basic Black that is cut at 2 1/4 x 5 1/2 through the Big Shot with the Quilt Top Embossing Folder.  Add to the right of the card.

Run a length of the Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon around the card.  Tape this to the card behind where the sentiment will go.  Tie a knot and add to the card with a glue dot.

The words are from the stamp set Flourishing Phrases.  Stamp in Memento Black on Whisper White cardstock.  Cut this out with the Stitched Labels Framelits.  Adhere with dimensionals.

Cut the butterfly from the Springtime Impressions Thinlits using our Silver Foil Sheets.  Add glue down the body of the butterfly and add to the card.  Finish off the front with a few well placed rhinestones.

Springtime Impressions Sympathy Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside of the card has a saying from Flourishing Phrases.  Add a butterfly in the lower right corner.  Use the Butterfly Gala stamp set.  Mask the top butterfly with tape.  Ink in Memento.  Take off the tape and stamp.  Add the body and antennae.

Springtime Impressions Sympathy Silver Foil by Jo Anne Hewins

I would say that this is a simple and pretty quick card.

I'm Loving that Country Floral Embossing Folder!

The Country Floral Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder is one of the Sale-a-Bration offerings.  It is fantastic!  The other fantastic thing is that Stampin' Up! has told us that this folder will be carried over to the next Annual Catalog!

Country floral embossing folder

If you don't have it, you will want it!  See the card for today.

Country Floral EF and Dear Doily by Jo Anne Hewins

Just look at the embossing on this card.  Now I do have some sad news about this card.  The Dear Doily stamp set is still available, but the Doily Builder Thinlits are no longer available.  There was some problem with our supplier.  They are so pretty, too.  Hopefully some of you reading my post today, already have these supplies.

I began with a card base of Berry Burst measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.  Run a piece of Berry Burst cut at 4 x 5 1/4 through the Big Shot with the Country Floral folder.  Since this is a thick one, you will only need one plastic plate.  Adhere to the front of the card.

Run a piece of Whisper White that is 1 x 5 1/4 through the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Dynamic Impressions Embossing Folder.  Be careful with the placement of this paper in the folder.  Center as best as you can with the design.  Glue this down the right side of the card leaving about an inch.  I used my grid paper to help line up pieces like this to make sure they are straight.

Country Floral EF and Dear Doily Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Cut a doily from Whisper White using the middle die from the Doily Builder Thinlits and add to the card.  I sponged some glue to the back of the doily.

Use the Stamparatus for the flowers for the card.  Use markers to color directly on the stamp.  The Berry Burst Stampin' Write Marker is from the 2017-2019 In Colors and the Mossy Meadow is part of the Neutrals Stampin' Write Markers.  Do NOT color on stamps with Blends.  Use the side of the marker and not the point.  Color and stamp.  With the Stamparatus you can ink and stamp again.  You will want to do that.  Cut these out with the dies.  I added with glue dots.

Add a bow made with the Silver Metallic Edged Ribbon with a glue dot.

The saying is from the stamp set Itty Bitty Birthdays.

Country Floral EF and Dear Doily Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  Stamp another flower.  It is stamped with the Stamparatus.  The saying is from the Humming Along stamp set.

Country Floral Embossing Folder and Dear Doily by Jo Anne Hewins

I think all of the texture on this card is beautiful.

Thank you for visiting my blog today.  I do appreciate it.  If I can help you with anything, please let me know.  Need a catalog?  Let me know.
