Triple Stamp with Dear Doily

Color Fusers Blog Hop for March 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for March.  This month we are using Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Smoky Slate.  You might have just come from Kelly Acheson's blog.  Don't you just love her work!  Be sure to visit all the posts to see some great ideas using these colors!

I love the new purples that Stampin' Up! introduced to the lineup last June.  Here is the card I made for the hop.

This is a gate fold card and features the Dear Doily Bundle.  What is it about doilies that are so appealing?  I love the laciness of them.  Is laciness a word?  I just looked.  It is!

Start with a card base of Gorgeous Grape that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  This time score at 2 1/8 and turn the card around and score at 2 1/8 from the other end.  That leaves the basic 4 1/4 measurement in the middle of the card.  If this helps score at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8 without any turning.  It's all the same.  Fold and use the Bone Folder to make a crisp fold.

For the front panels, the Smoky Slate pieces measure 1 7/8 x 5 1/4.  You will need 2 of these.  Add to the front.

The Highland Heather panels measure 1 3/4 x 5 1/8.  Put these panels down together on your grid sheet.  Stamp with the largest doily from Dear Doily in Gorgeous Grape..  Just stamp randomly as if it is all one piece.  When you add these pieces, make sure that they match in the design.

This card uses a belly band for its closure.  Cut a piece of Highland Heather cardstock to 1 1/4 x 10.  Score this at 3 and 7 1/4.  I used Tear & Tape to secure the two pieces.  I suggest that you might want to put the belly band around the card and then secure to make sure you'll be able to get the band on and off the card.  The pieced section will be on the front of the card.  The decoration will hide that.

Using the Doily Builder Framelits Dies, cut the largest doily from Gorgeous Grape cardstock.  There are 2 pieces of the dies that you need to use to cut out the whole doily.  You can run them both through at the same time.  Run it back and forth through the Big Shot several times.  Use the Big Shot Die Brush to get out all the little pieces.  Punch a Gorgeous Grape circle with the 2 1/4" Circle Punch.  Adhere the two with the doily on top.  Add these to the center of the belly band.  I went ahead and used my Tear & Tape since it was already out.  Use something strong.

The sentiment is stamped on Whisper White scrap in Gorgeous Grape.  It is from the Dear Doily stamp set.  Punch out with the Tailored Tag Punch.  Clip off about 1/2 inch from the right side.  I did use my Stampin' Trimmer.  Add to the belly band leaving room for the flowers.

Use the Stamparatus to help stamp the flowers from Dear Doily.  I made three flowers.  Use the Smoky Slate Stampin' Write Marker from the Neutrals, the Highland Heather Stampin' Write Marker from the Subtles, and the Gorgeous Grape Stampin' Write Marker from the Brights.  Do Not Use Blends on Your Stamps!  Color the stems with the gray.  Use both purples on the flowers.  Reink with the markers if needed.  Cut these out with the dies.  Use some Wink of Stella to give the flowers a little sparkle!  Add to the belly band.  Be careful not to add adhesive where it would stick to the card.

Add a bow with a glue dot.  This bow is made using the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack that is a Sale-a-Bration choice.  We are hoping these are back in stock.  Once in these will sell out again quickly.

The inside of this card is the standard 4 x 5 1/4 in Whisper White. I did line the words up on the Stamparatus.  Add another flower.

We are going to make this card in an upcoming class.  I did change the Smoky Slate to Lemon Lime Twist for the class.
