An Easel Card with Dandelion Wishes!
March 11, 2019
Hello and welcome to Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for March 2019. Thank you so much for joining the hop. I know you will find lots of great cards and ideas! My name is Jo Anne Hewins and I'm from the USA.
Today I'm sharing a card using the Dandelion Wishes stamp set. I just got this set recently and I'm happy to use it! I have an easel card.
Here is a picture of it opened and from the side.
These are just so much fun to make. They really are not that hard!
Start with a card base of Coastal Cabana that measures 4 1/4 x 11. Score this at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2. Fold the card in half and then the score half way down is folded down so that you would have a mountain as it sits on the card base bottom.
Next you'll need another piece of Coastal Cabana that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. That's the standard US card front. Run this paper through the Big Shot with the Dot to Dots Embossing Folder. This piece attaches to the front of the card base, however, you will only attach the bottom half of this paper. Only put adhesive on the bottom of the card base front. You can see how that would look in the picture above.
Use the Rectangle Stitched Framelits for the front of the card. Use the 4th rectangle in for the one in Coastal Cabana. The 5th rectangle in is for the Whisper White layer.
Stamp the large dandelion on the white layer using the Stamparatus to make sure that you get a good dark image. Use Smoky Slate ink. A sponge dauber is used to sponge Coastal Cabana ink over parts of the dandelion.
Attach the two rectangles and then tie Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the lower part. Make your first tie and then put a glue dot under the knot. That will hold the knot in place and help tying the rest of the bow. Add this panel with dimensionals.
If you feel that the top part of the card needs a little more support add a rectangle of Whisper White or Coastal Cabana to the back. It would measure 4 x 3.
For the inside of the card, stamp the dandelion seeds across the bottom in Smoky Slate. The words are from the same set. Stamp on a white scrap and punch with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch. Add this with dimensionals. When you open the card rest the front behind this circle to hold the card open.
You might have to include directions to the recipient of this card on how to display it.
Here's a video to show how to make this card.
