International Blog Highlight header

Welcome to Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up! Blog Hop.  This month we are sharing cards of encouragement.  My name is Jo Anne Hewins.  This is my first time taking part in this blog hop.  You can vote for my entry here.  The top ten cards will get to take part in an international blog hop later in the month.  That's so exciting!  Here is my entry.

Dear Doily bundle by Jo Anne Hewins

We all need encouragement!  Hopefully you know the thrill of finding a card in you mailbox made just for you.  It's happiness on a piece of paper.  Face it, we need encouragement every day!

My card uses lots of products from the Occasions catalog.  I am in love with this catalog!

Start with a card base of Night of Navy.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is folded at 4 1/4.

The Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies are hidden at the bottom of  page 28 in the Occasions catalog.  Use the largest rectangle and then skip 2 to the next one to make the frame.  I used the Thick Whisper White because I wanted it to be sturdy.

For the piece of Night of Navy, cut with the second largest frame.  This way you know that the frame will cover it.  Using the Doily Builder Framelits, cut out using the largest doily.  Go through the process several times of cutting out the doily until most of the paper is cut.  It took me 4 cuts.  Back this paper with a piece of Whisper White the same size.  Attach this piece to the center of the card front and then add that frame using the Foam Adhesive Strips.

The label in the center of the card is made using the Frosted Bouquet Framelits.  These were in the Holiday catalog, but have been carried over.  Cut the largest frame from Thick Whisper White.  Stamp the saying from the Needle & Thread stamp set from page 39 of the Occasions catalog.  Use Lovely Lipstick ink.  Center this with the smaller frame and cut.  The larger frame is placed on the foam strips, too.  These strips are a little thicker than dimensionals.  I wanted it to be the same height.  Glue on the smaller frame.  I love how they look together!

Add a few of the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots and finish it off with a Lovely Lipstick bow.  The die for the bow is in the Doily Builder Framelits.

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is from Needle & Thread.   The doily is from the Doily Builder Framelits.

Here is a video on how to make the card.

I would recommend that you glue down the Night of Navy cut out piece much better than I did in the video.  Thank you for watching my video!
