Color Fusers Blog Hop for February 2019
February 04, 2019
Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for February of 2019. This month we are using Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Early Espresso, Basic Black, and Whisper White. You might have just come from Barb's blog. Her ideas are fantastic! If you are just getting started, don't forget to complete the hop for ideas using these colors!
I'm not going to lie. This was a hard challenge for me. I'm not really a pink person. I also have to say that I like my card! I used the stamp set from the Be Mine Valentine January Paper Pumpkin. Those birds are just so cute! They deserve their few minutes in the spotlight!
Don't you love those birds! I started with a card base of Poppy Parade that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. The next layer is Petal Pink. It is 3 3/4 x 5. I used the new Dot to Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. It's found on page 25 of the Occasions catalog. So cute!
Next, use the Rectangle Stitched Framelits to cut out a rectangle from Whisper White. The rectangle I used is 2 5/8 x 4. Add it to the left side of the card with dimensionals.
The tree branch is cut out in Early Espresso and in Basic Black. Cut two of each. It's really hard to see in this picture, but I put them both a little off center. The black is the shadow. This die is the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies. Add these to the rectangle. The ends of the branches will hang off and extend across the card front. Trim the left side so that the branches are even with the rectangle.
Stamp the birds on Whisper White using Tuxedo Memento Black ink. I used the Light and Dark Petal Pink Blends and the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Blends to color the birds. Fussy cut and add them on the tree branches. Some of the birds are on dimensionals.
The words are from the stamp set Animal Outing. The January Paper Pumpkin kit coordinates with the Animal Expedition Suite on pages 26 and 27 of the Annual catalog. Stamp them in Early Espresso on white and cut these out. Glue to the rectangle.
For the inside of the card, the saying is from the Be Mine Valentine stamp set from the Paper Pumpkin kit. Add a few birds in the lower right corner.
So there you have it. It's a simple card if you don't mind cutting! I love to cut!
