Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #545, Tea Together

Welcome to another Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This is #545.  We are using the colors Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Lovely Lipstick.

CCMC545

I'm using the stamp set Tea Together.  It's on page 49 of the Occasions catalog.  It pairs with the Tea Time Framelits Dies on page 17 of the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Yes, the framelits are free with a $100 purchase!  Here is the card.

CCMC #545 Tea Time by Jo Anne Hewins

Sometimes when I am looking for inspiration for the colors we are using, I look at our designer paper.  The All My Love Designer Series Paper had the colors I needed.  The paper is on page 5 of the Occasions catalog.

Begin with a card base of Crumb Cake measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.    The Lovely Lipstick layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

The Whisper White layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  On the top 3/4 of the page stamp randomly the small leaf from the Tea Together stamp set.  Use Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  Turn the stamp in different directions.  You don't have to do the middle of the paper except at the top.  The tea pot will cover the rest.  Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends to color in the leaves.  Cover the whole leaf with the light color.  Add in a little of the dark at one of the ends and blend again with the lighter Crumb Cake.  This adds a little interest to the background of the card.

The designer paper at the bottom of this layer is 1 1/4 x 3 5/8.  For the Lovely Lipstick doily, use the Pearlized Doilies.  Cut one that is about 1/4 inch less than half of the doily.  Turn it on the back and color using a Sponge Dauber and Lovely Lipstick ink.  Glue with the straight edge even with the patterned paper added at the bottom.  Wrap a piece of the Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain ribbon across the card and tape the ends to the back of this layer.

Add all the layers to the card.

Stamp the tea pot on the Flirty Flamingo/Lovely Lipstick paper from All My Love.  Use Lovely Lipstick ink.  Cut this out with the Tea Time Framelits.  Add to the card with dimensionals.  Use glue dots to add the grosgrain bow.

CCMC #545 Tea Time close up of flower by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the flower on Whisper White using Memento Black.  Color using the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Blends and the Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick Blends.  Use the framelits to cut this out.  To make the flower stand out, use a Stampin' Pierce Mat.  Turn the flower over to the back.  Push around the flower using the wrong end of the Paper Piercing Tool.  I used little circles.  When you have a rounded look put a little bit of a cotton ball there.  I added a tiny bit of glue and then the cotton.  Roll up glue dots and add them around the outside of the flower.  Turn and add to the tea pot.  I have a video at the end of the post.

The sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set Part of My Story.  It's on page 14 of the brochure.  Cut this sentiment apart and add to the card.
