Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #542 Beauty Abounds

Welcome to this edition of the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. The new Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure go live today! I just had to throw that in! It's an exciting Stampin' Up! day! This week we have a sketch.

This is a great sketch. Here is my card.

The Lemon Lime Twist and the black remind me of our kitchen growing up. I think my dad picked out the flooring for the kitchen when they built the house. He was an electrician and probably traded it out with a flooring guy. I didn't really like those together at the time. Dad was ahead of his time, though, wasn't he! I sure love it now!

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

All of the patterned paper for this card is from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper that is free with a $50 catalog purchase during Sale-a-Bration. I'll go over my measurements from the back to the front.

Black on white butterfly and flower outline: 3 1/4 x 5

Black with swirls and white butterflies: 3 x 4

Black and white diagonal stripe: 1 x 5 1/2.

Highland Heather piece: 7/8 x 3 1/2. This was a piece that was on my desk and I just used it.

Cut an oval from Whisper White using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

The butterflies are cut using the Butterfly Beauty Thinlits Dies found on page 13 of the Occasions catalog. There are two dies that work together. The more solid one goes on the bottom. It's in Highland Heather. The more detailed one goes on top and is in Lemon Lime Twist. I recomment using the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets for this layer in the card. It turns it into a sticker. Adhering the two is a breeze! I cut down the cut out pieces so that I only had this butterfly. Use the other butterflies for more projects! Add the butterfly with glue dots down the body and bend the wings up a little.

The saying on the inside is from the coordinating stamp set Beauty Abounds. Of course you can always purchase the two as a bundle and save 10%. The butterfly is one that I didn't get cut out very well. I think it looks cute here. Think of it as happy mistakes!
