It sure is an exciting time for Stampin' Up!  Sale-a-Bration is a great time to earn free products just from buying something you wanted to buy anyway.  It's also a fantastic time to join the Stampin' Up! and the Luv 2 Create family!

We learned at OnStage about 3 kinds of stampers, the beginner, the casual stamper, and the avid stamper.  Today I have 3 cards for you so that you have one at each level.  I'm using the Lasting Lily stamp set on page 19 of the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.  This is a fantastic set with 16 stamps in it.  For this reason it's one of those available with a $100 purchase.  It's one of the Distinktive sets which means the stamps shows lots of detail without a lot of work!

Lasting Lily Beginner by Jo Anne Hewins

This is the card for a beginner.  It's so classically beautiful that I think most anyone would love to stamp it!  I used one of the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes.  These are found on page 193 of the Annual Catalog.  Twenty card bases with envelopes are only $6.50.  The size is 3 1/2 x 5.

The stem and the leaf are two different stamps.  Stamp them in Granny Apple Green.

The lily is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  This ink is dark and will cover up some of the stem.  That's all right.

The saying is stamped in Rich Razzleberry.  Look at this card with a little of the Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Trace around the flap of the envelope and cut it out.  Glue.

Lasting Lily Beginner with envelope by Jo Anne Hewins

The next card is for the casual stamper.  This stamper has a lot of fun stamping and has begun a collection of supplies.  They probably do not stamp every day.

Lasting Lily occasional stamper by Jo Anne Hewins

This is a regular sized card made from a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.

The dotted paper is from the Sale-a-Bration pack called Botanical Butterfly.  It measures 4 x 5 1/4.

Stamp the large lily and the smaller one in Rich Razzleberry on a piece of 2 1/2 x 4 Whisper White card stock.  Add the stems in Granny Apple Green.  For the smaller flower, I used the stem with a little leaf.  It ended up being covered by the label.  Mount this on a piece of Basic Black card stock that is 2 5/8 x 4 1/8.  Adhere to the right side of the card.

The ribbon here is from page 201 of the Annual Catalog.  It is the 1/4" Velvet Ribbon in Rich Razzleberry.  Cut two pieces that are about 4" long each.  Cross on the card.

The saying is stamped on Whisper White in Rich Razzleberry.  Punch with the Tailored Tag punch.  Add the label with dimensionals.  Add these so they will not be on the ribbon!

Lasting Lily SAB by Jo Anne Hewins

This card is for the avid stamper.  That's me!  The avid stamper wants everything and does not mind if a card takes some time to make.  It's the self satisfaction when the card is done.  Hopefully we do share our cards!

The black mat is cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  The Botanical Butterfly paper is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

The flowers (Rich Razzleberry) and the stems and leaves (Granny Apple Green) are all stamped on Whisper White card stock and then cut out by hand.  This is a good way to use up some of your scraps.  I love to cut!

The larger flowers are glued to the card as well as the stems for them.  The smaller flower and stem and more leaves are placed on dimensionals.

The saying is done the same as on the prior card.

Lasting Lily Trio of cards by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the trio of cards.  All are lovely!  I think you are going to need the Lasting Lily stamp set.  I know you are going to need the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  Both of these are free choices when purchasing product from Stampin' Up!

Thanks so much for joining us on the NC Demo Blog Hop.  Next is Tracie.  She always has such wonderful ideas!

Hey, Love It's a Gorilla!

Have you seen the new Valentine stamp set called Hey Love?  It's on page 8 of the new Occasions catalog.  It is so cute!

Hey Love stamp set

Today I have three cards for you.  At our OnStage in Orlando in November, Stampin' Up! talked about three kinds of stampers.  One of these just might describe you.  They are the beginner, the occasional stamper, and the avid stamper.  I have a gorilla card for each kind of stamper.

Hey Love! Gorilla Beginner stamper by Jo Anne Hewins

This card is for the beginning stamper.  It is stamped on one of the Note Cards & Envelopes.  This is a great value.  The 20 note cards are ready for use and envelopes come with them.  They are a little smaller than the regular card.  These are 3 1/2 x 5.  For this card, stamp the gorilla in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Color with Blends.  I used the Light and Dark Smoky Slate, the Light Real Red, and the Light Petal Pink.  I did glue down a piece of Whisper White to the inside of the flap.  It measures 3 3/8 x 4 7/8.  The Blends bleed through the card stock.  This layer hides that!

Stamp the APE saying in Smoky Slate over the card and around the gorilla.  Stampe the valentine saying in Real Red.

Hey Love! Gorilla Occasional Stamper by Jo Anne Hewins

This card is for the occasional stamper.  This stamper has stamped a while and has some supplies.  They love stamping and have a little bit of a collection.

This card is also on the Note Cards & Envelopes.  Use a piece of Tropical Escape 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper to cover the card.  It is cut at 3 3/8 x 4 7/8.

Stamp the gorilla on a piece of Whisper White and color with Blends as above.  Cut this out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Add some of the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack behind the circle.  That's one of the choices from Sale-a-Bration when you spend $50.  (Begins January 3rd)  Add the circle with dimensionals.

Stamp the saying on a piece of Whisper White scrap and punch out with the Classic Label punch.  Add to the card.

Hey Love! Gorilla for Avid Stamper by Jo Anne Hewins

This card is for the avid stamper.  That's me for sure!  This stamper loves to stamp!  They might even stamp every day!  They get all excited when new catalogs come out and they WANT IT ALL!  I have been accused of being a little of a fanatic, maybe even more than a little!

This note card has a different patterned paper from the Tropical Escape paper.  It's also 3 3/8 x 4 7/8 and is black and white.

Add a length of the Lemon Lime Twist organdy ribbon starting behind where the gorilla will go and going all around the card and back to the starting point.  Tape in place.  Make a bow to add later.  I use a bow maker and made a double bow.

Stamp the gorilla on Whisper White and color with the Blends.  Fussy cut and add to the card with dimensionals.

Other pieces of the Tropical Escaper paper can be cut out with the Tropical Thinlits.  I dut out 3 of the thin frond ferns and glued them to the card.  There are 5 of the fatter leaves.  Add these around the gorilla with dimensionals.

Add the bow.

The saying is stamped in Real Red on white scrap.  Cut around and add to the card.

Hey Love! Gorilla for Beginner Occasional and Avid Stamper by Jo Anne Hewins

So here are the three cards together.  Which kind of stamper are you?

I would love to help you if you are a beginner, an occasional stamper, or an avid stamper.  I've been at all three levels.  Please let me know if you need the new Occasions catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Check out my incentive program Download Luv 2 Create incentive.  I would love to earn your business!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #541 Butterfly Gala

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we are using Gorgeous Grape, Blueberry Bushel, and Balmy Blue.

For some reason, I struggled with this color combo, but I think I came up with a pretty good card.  I'm so excited about the new Occasions catalog that begins January 3rd.  Right along with it comes the Sale-a-Bration celebration!  You'll be able to earn free product.  First, here's the card.

CCMC #541 Butterfuly Gala by Jo Anne Hewins

Stampin' Up! is known for its coordination of products, but they have outdone themselves this time!  First of all, let me just say the Sale-a-Bration patterned paper is FANTASTIC!  If you are a lover of butterflies you are in luck!  If you love the look of black and white, you are in luck with the flip side of the paper.  Here's a quick look at the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  The best part is that you can get this paper for FREE with a $50 purchase during the Sale-a-Bration promotion!

Botanical butterfly dsp

I'll tell you more as we go!

The card base is Gorgeous Grape 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Balmy Blue measuring 3 3/4 x 5.

The black and white butterfly paper from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Now the fun begins!  The butterfly solid images from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, page 35 in the Occasions catalog, fit perfectly on this patterned paper!  You will want to stamp this before you adhere the paper to the card.  Use Gorgeous Grape, stamped off, Blueberry Bushel, stamped off, and Balmy Blue, NOT stamped off.  Stamp the top part of the butterfly and the bottom parts randomly until all is covered.  Don't forget the little edge pieces!  You'll also need to stamp an extra butterfly from left over paper.

Run a length of the Balmy Blue organdy ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack.  It's also a free item you can select with a $50 purchase.   While you have the ribbon, make a small bow.  We'll add it later.

So let's talk about the sentiment piece for this card.  The stitching comes from a die from the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies, 39.  The saying is from Butterfly Gala.  Stamp the saying in Blueberry Bushel on Whisper White.  Now center the die and run it through the Big Shot to get the stitching.  Now simply punch it out with the Pretty Label Punch that's in the Annual Catalog.  More coordination!  I also stamped some antenna on the corner of the label.  Add the label with dimensionals.

Now, the extra butterfly that you stamped can be punched out with the new Butterfly Duet Punch! Yes!  That punch coordinates with the Botanical Butterfly paper, too!  Wow!  Add a glue dot near the head and a mini dimensional at the other end.  Fold up the wings and add to the card.

Add the bow with a glue dot.

CCMC #541 insided of Butterfly Gala card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here's the inside of my card.  I have a little bit of patterned paper just sitting there so I decided to use it.  It measures 3 5/8 x 2 1/4.  Stamp it just as for the front and add.  The saying is from Butterfly Gala stamped in Blueberry Bushel.

CCMC #541 by Jo Anne Hewins

I love this card so much that we are going to make it at a class near the end of January!

Needle & Thread in Grapefruit Grove

Last week I shared a card made using the Needle & Thread bundle.  You can find that post here.  My card for today is actually the first card I made using this bundle.  I was trying to make something a little brighter, but I just have to admit that I'm not a fan of orange.  I do like Grapefruit Grove, or maybe I should say that it is growing on me.  I've decided to share this card because everyone does not think like me.  Maybe there is someone who will love this one.  Here is the card.

Needle & Thread by Jo Anne Hewins

This card starts with a card base of Grapefruit Grove measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

Using the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies run the large stitching dies through the Big Shot two times.  The first time it is near the top right and the second time, it is near the bottom left.  This stitching is so beautiful!

Needle & Thread stitching by Jo Anne Hewins

The Whisper White label is also part of the Needlepoint Elements dies.  Stamp it first in Highland Heather.  The saying is from the Needle & Thread stamp set.  Now cut out the label with the die.

Add 4 little pieces of the Lemon Lime Twist Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack, found in the Sale-a-Bration brochure, at each end.  I taped them from the back.

Add the label with dimensionals.

Stamp the flowers from the set in Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist and Grapefruit Grove and cut them out with the dies.  The three small flowers are cut out with the same die.  That makes the work a little easier.

Cut more leaves from Lemon Lime card stock.  Arrange the leaves and flowers in a pleasing manner.  A few flowers are added with dimensionals.

Needle & Thread inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of my card.  The saying is from the Needle & Thread stamp set.  Add some of your left over leaves and flowers in the corner.

It is a pretty card.  Now look at the two below and tell me which one you like best!  I would love to hear from you!
