Color Fusers Blog Hop for December, 2018

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for December.  This month we are using the colors Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Mint Macaron, and Gold Foil.  You may have just come from Barb's blog.  It's so much fun to see how each of us has used the colors we have.  I know Barb had a great project.

I recently got the Floral Frames bundle from page 135 of the Annual Catalog.  So, of course, I needed to use it.  Here is the card I made.

It's a little hard to tell, but Wink of Stella covers all of the flowers.  It's quite beautiful in person.

Start with a card base of Shaded Spruce measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Mint Macaron.  I used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut out a circle from the center of the card.  It's just above the center from top to bottom.  Find the circle that is just a little smaller than the circle cut using the Foliage Frame Framelits.    Do use the framelit that has the leaves coming out from a circle.  Once you have cut the circle in the Mint Macaron layer, run it through the Big Shot with the Basket Weave Dynamic Embossing Folder.

Lay the Mint Macaron layer in place on the front of the card and trace around the opening.  Put that layer aside and cut the front layer of the card matching the circle drawn.  Now adhere the layer to the front of the card.

Now cut the foliage piece from Shaded Spruce, and then cut the circle from the center of this piece.  Adhere the foliage piece to the front of the card.  I cut another of the foliage pieces and cut leaves to add at places on the front of the card.

Cut three pieces of Gold Foil with the fern framelits.  Add around the circle of leaves.

Stamp the flowers in Cherry Cobbler on Watercolor Paper.  I used three of the three flower clusters and 2 of the two flower clusters for the front of the card.  Color these flowers with your Wink of Stella.  Cut out using the matching framelits and glue to the card.

This is the inside of the card.  Of course part of it shows through the hole in the front of the card.  Adhere the Whisper White inside of the card.  With the front closed, stamp the words in the center of the circle in Cherry Cobbler.  These words are part of the Floral Frames stamp set.  Stamp 2 of the two flower clusters on Watercolor Paper and paint with Wink of Stella.  Cut out and add around the saying so that the flower clusters are visible peeking through when the card is closed.

I haven't made a card with the front cut away to show the inside in a really long time.  It was a lot of fun!  I hope my directions made sense to you.  Try it!

Next is Kelly.  She always has wonderful ideas and techniques!  You won't want to miss it.
