October 2018 Paper Pumpkin Friends of a Feather

Did you get the Friends of a Feather October Paper Pumpkin? When I first saw it, I thought that it just wasn't for me. Once I started working with it, I liked it more and more. This kit makes 4 each of 2 designs for a total of 8 cards. You even get cute printed envelopes!

Here's a picture of the cards that I made that are pretty close to the directions that came with the kit.

There is a smaller fold out card with fantastic lazer cut feathers on the front. Wow!

I'm intrigued with the colors used in this kit. I would not have put them all together, but they really work.

There are lazer cut feathers of many colors as well as lots of leaves in different colors. Look at the fancy scalloped edges on these cards!

Of course I had to come up with my own ideas for this kit so here we go.

This card starts with a base of Grapefruit Grove. The Mint Macaron layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

The Whisper White layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8. Stamp the leaf over the background in Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron.

Turn one of the leaves over to the white side and sponge with a dauber with Mint Macaron ink. Use the Fresh Fig and the Cajun Craze leaves too. Adhere to the card. Add some of the smaller Grapefruit Grove and Night of Navy leaves.

Use the Nature's Twine and pull apart strands in Grapefruit Grove and Mint Macaron. Use those strands to stretch across the card and to make a bow. Add the bow with a glue dot. The saying is stamped in Mint Macaron on one of the white labels from the kit. Add it with dimensionals. Add some of the sequins from the Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins.

For this card, the base is Cajun Craze. The Night of Navy layer is 4 x 5 1/4.

The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 5. Stamp the three little lines over as interet for the background. Stamp in Cajun Craze. Add some Cajun Craze Designer Series Paper from the Regals collection. It measures 1 1/2 x 3 3/4.

Stamp the container from the Country Lane in Memento Black. Color with the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Blends. Use the Color Lifter to lighten it up a little. Cut this out and add with dimensionals.

But wait! Before you adhere the container, add some of the twine. I went around 2 times. Add a bow with glue dots after the container is down. Add small leaves to the container using Cajun Craze, Coastal Cabana, Grapefruit Grove, and Night of Navy. Finish off with some of the sequins from the kit.
