Here's Another First Frost Card!
November 07, 2018
I've mentioned before that I was not going to buy the First Frost bundle, but I just couldn't help myself. I admitted that I had to have it. Today, I have a Christmas card using the bundle.
I love this card! Start with a card base of Merry Merlot measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4. The next layer is Shaded Spruce cut at 4 x 5 1/4. Finally there is a layer of Smoky Slate that measures 3 3/4 x 5. Run this layer through the Big Shot with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Say that three times fast! Slight sponge this surface with a dauber and Smoky Slate ink.
Use the Celebrate You Thinlits. The words are cut in Merry Merlot. To make the JOY, simply turn over the YOU and trim the U. I think that's so smart! I wish I could say that's an original idea, but I saw it on Pinterest!
Take the stamp from the First Frost stamp set that has the leaves and flowers. I'm not sure I can call that flowers. Using the Merry Merlot and the Shaded Spruce Stampin' Write Markers, color directly onto the stamp. I would suggest that you use the Stamparatus. Often this technique could use a second inking! Color again to get some extra leaves. Stamp the large (1)and the small (2) flowers in Merry Merlot. Cut all of that out using the Frost Bouquet Framelits. Arrange as you wish at the bottom of the card.
Aren't these colors great together?
So here is the inside of the card. The saying is from the Timeless Tidings stamp set stamped in merlot. Ink the stamp for the inside with the markers once again. When you put this stamp on the Stamparatus, I would make sure that it can stamp the inside of the card. Cut the paper for the front to fit where you have the stamp attached.
We are making this card in class last week. I know they liked it!
