Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge with Beautiful Blizzard

Hello, hello!  Today for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge we are using Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, and Mint Macaron.

CCMC535

I'm using the Beautiul Blizzard bundle for my card today.  These colors may be just a little different for snow, but here we go!

I think it works!  The card base is Mossy Meadow measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The Mint Macaron layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

The Night of Navy layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  First make a stencil.  Do this by using the Blizzard Thinlit to cut a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Thick Whisper White card stock.  Make sure all the snowflakes are cut well.  You'll have to run this through several times.  I ended up using a shem (piece of card stock) through to make the layer a little thicker to cut better.  Take the stencil and lightly adhere to the Night of Navy layer.  You'll want to take the stencil off later so make sure that you can.  Mix about 2 drops of Mint Macaron ink with some of the Embossing Paste.  I did this on my Silicone Craft Sheet.  It's found on page 213 of the annual catalog.  It's also easy to overlook.  Use one of the Palette Knives to spread the paste over the stencil.  Scrap off a lot of the extra.  Pull off the stencil.  If you look closely, you can see that mine did not turn out perfectly, but I love it.  It really looks like suede.  Remember that the paste dries quickly.  Go clean the knife and mat now!

When dry, add the Mint Macaron twine from the Nature's Twine pack.  Take a length that will reach across the card.  Pull the stands apart.  Then tape the ends on the back.  Hint:  Use your Grid Paper to help make sure your twine is straight on the card!  Add the navy layer to the card.

The saying is from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set.  Stamp in Night of Navy onto Mint Macaron card stock.  Cut out using the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Add to the card with dimensionals.

Make a bow from more of the macaron twine pulling apart the strands.  Add with a glue dot.

Make two banners that are 1/4" wide and notch the ends.  These patterns are from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.  Add with dimensionals.

Here's the inside of the card.  It's all Night of Navy and Mint Macaron.  The large stamp is stamped off in Mint Macaron.  Add the swirls.  The saying is from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set.  Add a few snowflakes in Mint Macaron made using the Blizzard Thinlits.
