Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #537 Dashing Deer

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #537.  This week we are using the colors Tranquil Tide, Gray Granite, and Copper Foil.

CCMC537

I'm using the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper  for my project.  Unfortunately, this paper is no longer available.  It does have the copper foil right in the paper!  I'm sorry it was only with us a short while.  Here is the card I made.

I tried the cracked glass technique after watching a video from Kelly Acheson.  I'll get to it in a minute.

Start with a card base of Tranquil Tide measuring 5 1/5 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Copper Foil layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  Now I'm going to tell you that I cut some stuff out of the middle of the foil that I might use on another card.  We can't let foil go to waste, can we.

Mount a piece of the deer paper from Joyous Noel cut at 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

The Whisper White rectangle is 2 1/4 x 3 1/2.  Using the Stamparatus, stamp the deer in the center of the paper in Tranquil Tide.  I used the Stamparatus in case I needed to stamp it again to get a good dark image.

Here are the steps for the cracked glass:

Ink up the entire rectangle piece in Versamark.  Now sprinkle with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat.

Let it cool a minute and repeat the last step.  Repeat until you have about 6 layers.

Put the rectangle in the freezer for a few minutes.  Take it out and immediately bend it in several directions to get the cracks.

If you need more cracks, return to the freezer and repeat.  I did do it a second time.

Rub over the surface with a sponge dauber and Gray Granite ink.

Add a Copper Trim bow with a glue dot.  I added some stars to the white area.  These were punched from copper scraps using the Twinkle Builder Punch.

Add this layer with dimensionals.

The saying is from the Peaceful Noel set.  Stamp in Versamark, add Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder, and heat.  Cut it out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits .  Add snail where this covers the rectangle and dimensionals on the bottom and right side.

For the inside, stamp in Tranquil Tide.  The stamp is from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set.  Add a few more of the copper stars.

The cracked glass technique is a lot of fun.

Thanks for spending time with me today.
