Colorful Seasons and Ribbon of Courage

Today, I've gone back to the annual catalog for a great fall card.

Colorful Seasons by Jo Anne Hewins

I love how this card turned out.  Start with the card base of Cherry Cobbler.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  Stamp it in Soft Suede using the Hardwood background stamp set.

Cut three full leaves from this background using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  One is toward the middle right.  The others are to the top and bottom to the left.  Cover these holes.  Use the 2 1/4" Circle Punch to punch out Soft Suede, Pineapple Punch, and Cherry  Cobbler.  Cover the top and bottom leaves from the back first.  You may need to trim the circle a little if it overlaps the middle circle.  Cover the middle circle from the back last.  Cut the detailed leaves in Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler, and Pineapple Punch.  Adhere the leaves in the holes.

Using the Linen Thread at the center left, wrap around the card at an upper diagonal right.  Whip it around the back and make a diagonal toward the bottom right.  Tape the ends to the back of the layer.  Add the layer to the card base.

The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  This stamp is from the Ribbon of Courage stamp set.  Punch out with the 1 1/2" Circle Punch.  Add with dimensionals.

Add a double bow of Linen Thread with a glue dot.

The saying is also from Ribbon of Courage.  Add three Soft Suede small leaves.

Colorful Seasons plus Hardwoods by Jo Anne Hewins

We'll be making this card in our November class this week.  I think it will be fun.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Let me know what I can do for you.

There are already about 5 ways to use this bundle on that page.  I have more.

NC Demo Blog Hop October 2018 Beautiful Blizzard by Jo Anne Hewins

Here, we actually have 3 cards and a little 3D item.

Beautiful Blizzard Inset Snowflakes card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card has a base of Night of Navy 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  Center the Blizzard Thinlits on this layer and run through the Big Shot.  Run it through several times.  Glue this to the base.  A really easy way to do this would be to use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.

Now run the Blizzard Thinlits through with a sheet of Balmy Blue card stock.  Take some of the snowflakes and add them to the white layer.  Now they are inset.  Again, the adhesive sheets would really make this fast and easy.

Run a length of the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon around the card.  You'll hide the ends with the oval.

Stamp the saying on Whisper White in navy ink and cut out with the Stitched Shapes oval.  Add the saying with dimensionals.

Add a bow to the side of the oval with a glue dot.

I love the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.  I use it again in the next project!

Blessed Christmas Wishes Beautiful Blizzard by Jo Anne Hewins

The base is Night of Navy.  There is a Whisper White layer that is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Balmy Blue layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Using the new Big Shot Embossing Mats, run the blue layer through with the Blizzard Thinlits.  The embossing mat does not cut, but embosses the design on your paper.  Now you have another use for the Blizzard Thinlits.  Try the mats if you haven't already.  It will double the use of your thinlits!

Whisper White snowflakes are added and the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.

The saying for this card is from the Night of Bethlehem stamp set on page 99 of the annual catalog.

Beautiful Blizzard Vanilla Note Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card uses the Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes.  I love the note cards and use them a lot.  In fact I made about 30 of these cards when at the beach recently.  I don't usually mix Very Vanilla and Whisper White, but I think it works here.

For this card, I stamped the background.  I started with the largest stamp and used Balmy Blue.  Stamp off for this one.  Next I added a few of the swirls in Balmy Blue.  I then added snowflakes in Balmy Blue and in Night of Navy.  Add several snowflakes in Whisper White.  Again, I'll mention the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets.  They will make your snowflakes into stickers.

Tie around the card with the Whisper White Solid Baker's Twine.  Add the saying with dimensionals, and a bow with glue dots.

Beautiful Blizzard Vanilla Note Card Group by Jo Anne Hewins

I tend to overthink things, so I wondered if three different cards was enough.  I decided to add a super quick treat holder.

Beautiful Blizzard treat holder by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm keeping with my theme of blues.  This treat holder was made from a 6 x 6 piece of paper from the Twinkle, Twinkle Designer Series Paper.  This blue is actually Pool Party, but it works.  I know you have seen these holders, but just in case you haven't search for Stampin' Up! 6 x 6 treat holder on Pinterest.  Just add the twine, snowflakes, and a saying from the Beautiful Blizzard stamp set.  I don't have a treat in here yet, so I added a snowman from the Spirited Snowmen stamp set.

Falling For You Vanilla Note Cards

I think the Note Cards & Envelopes are the best deal ever!  I've said it before.  They come in Whisper White and Vanilla.  You get 20 cards and envelopes for $6.50.  They are a little smaller that the regular A2 cards.  They measure 3 1/2 x 5.  I use these are lot when making a lot of a card.  I use them for shut-ins at church, thank yous, and RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) cards for the Luv 2 Stamp group.  Here is my card for this month.

Falling for Leaves Vanilla Note Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card was very simple.  Use the Falling for Leaves stamp set to make your background.  You are making your own designer series paper!  I started with the largest leaf and stamped them in stamped off Crumb Cake.  Next I added the Mint Macaron leaves.  This is a two-stamp leaf.  You'll add the lines in the leaves.  It's easy to match since this set is photopolymer.  The Poppy Parade leaves are next, and then the Pumpkin Pie leaves with the lines added.  It really does not matter the order that you use, but I do suggest you start with the largest stamp first, and then work down.

The saying used is from the stamp set Eastern Beauty found on page 138 of the annual catalog.  It's such a great sentiment.  Stamp in Poppy Parade on Very Vanilla card stock.  Punch this out with the 1 1/2 inch circle punch.  Use the Layering Circles for the Poppy Parade scalloped circle.  Yes, you can use the Layering Circles for both.  It's easier for me to use a punch if I am making multiples of a card.

Cut a length of the Poppy Parade 1/2" Textured Weave Ribbon found on page 19 of the Holiday catalog.  Mine was about 5 inches long.  Tie, in a knot, some of the Linen Thread. It's about 1 1/2" back and about 3" long.  Add the poppy ribbon to the card.  I just used my snail right on the ribbon.  Add a double Linen Thread bow with a glue dot.  Add the saying with dimensionals.

Falling for Leaves Vanilla Note Card inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, add some leaves.  Remember to stamp off the large Crumb Cake leaf.

Now I need to address some envelopes and get these out in the mail!

It's fun to make your own background!  Play with it.  I'm sure you'll like your results!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge # 533 Four-Petal Flower Punch

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Challenge #533 uses Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, and Pumpkin Pie.

CCMC533

With Halloween so close, I thought those colors were perfect.  I decided to do something different with the colors.

CCMC #533 Four-Petal Flower Punch by Jo Anne Hewins

The Four-Petal Punch and the Brights and Regals 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers are the stars of this card.  I admit that it does look a little busy.  I'm hoping you'll think that the Thick Whisper White base tones that down a little.

The Thick Whisper White base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score this and fold at 4 1/4.

The Pumpkin Pie banner across the card is 2 x 5 1/2.

There are three flowers.  Each one has 2 layers of Gorgeous Grape layers.  Join them off center with a dimensional.  Stamp the Granny Apple Green paper with the Four-Petal Flower punch and cut in half.  Glue each half so that it sticks out like leaves.  The center of the flowers is a 1/2 inch circle punched out.  Add with a dimensional.

After making the three flowers, arrange as you wish.  Attach each with a dimensional.

The saying is from the Varied Vases stamp set.  Stamp just under the Pumpkin Pie banner in Gorgeous Grape.

CCMC #533 Four-Petal Flower Punch inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, make another flower.  This one only has one of the Gorgeous Grape layers.  Glue all of this.  The saying is from Varied Vases here, too.

CCMC#533 Four-Petal Flower punch by Jo Anne Hewins

This is an easy and quick card.  You could use lots of different designer papers to make variations.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I appreciate it.  I hope you'll check out creatwithconnieandmary.com for other ideas with these colors.
